Thanks IVYLEAF, he's booked in and approved by the hospital for a repair and we're only waiting for a date now, he's also on the waiting list for cancellations so I hope it will be fairly soon xxx.0

Get will messages to HWK from me too. That sounds dreadful.
Hot steamy water in a bowl, head over it, with a towel over the head, is the best way to help cough up whatever is causing you to cough. You can put a bit of Vick or some menthol crystals in the water. If that helps.
Hot not boiling water as if they are coughing that bad we don't want a bowl boiling water in anyone's lap.
Cough medicine is a waste of money. If it worked it would kill you. We don't have a cough reflex for nothing. A torn muscle and a hernia are better than drowning in your own secretions.0 -
He's fine, he doesn't fuss himself and although the torn muscles were painful what was more painful was not being able to get on to his beloved Allotment and do the spring dig!!! He paced himself and the dig is now complete and he is chomping at the bit for the hospital to fix the hernia so he can do the autumn dig properly when the time comes! bless him !!!.0

Poor HWKs Mrs LW, sounds really painful. I am just getting over the national chest infection but luckily haven't needed the Dr yet.
Aunt and I did go to the same island, Bute (Leith was yesterday mar, it was flat calm). The water was fairly choppy today and the sun shone a few times, a biting wind but it stayed dry. Aunt talks to anyone and everyone all day, has a fantastic social life, hundreds of friends but just loves to talk!0 -
I have the torn muscle thing too. Not a hernia also, though. Thankfully. I have had it for about six weeks but it's slowly on the mend.
I read menthol crystals as crystal meth :rotfl:I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
I asked the chemist for crystal meth too - she didn't bat an eyelid!0

Morning all,
This is just a quick one as things are still very busy here and this chicken must find her head and have it re-attached as soon as!
I just wanted to let you all know that I finally had the hospital appointment to have my tongue checked and was told all looks healthy. Much relief on my part! You were all so kind when the dentist first made the referral so I wanted to let you know even if it was a number of months ago.
All going well here--we've just about bought a small used car--we'll do a final test on it later this week and if all is well we'll take possession before the weekend. All part of project move further out of the city! Right. I must get back to work, but hugs to you all. I hope to pop in more regularly when things calm down and catch up on all of your news.0 -
FPK that's such a good piece of news pet, thanks for thinking to let us know, brilliant!!! and a car too? even more brilliant xxx.0

Lovely to see you FPK! So pleased it was good news at the hospital :T
Lyn I hope HWK doesn't have long to wait for his repair.
DD1 has been back to the GP; apparently what she described to me as a "chest infection" is actually ambulant pneumonia in her left lung (she didn't tell me in case i worried), and she now has pleurisy in the right lung into the bargain! But she has been on antibiotics and anti-inflammatories since Monday and says she does actually feel a bit better overall today, so hopefully she'll soon be on the mend.
Our lovely son-in-law is doing a grand job of looking after her considering he can't see very well0 -
My dining room table and 6 chairs have all left the building, along with my Andrew James food slicer.
A home has been found for the fish.
Someone also wants my 2 sofa's and my tumble dryer.
My house is looking empty, woohoo.Chin up, Titus out.0
