Gloriously sunny day here as well Mardatha. Might make 11degrees. We will see.
Must get out and get some exercise. Ill see if I can rope DH in to do a bit of garden clearing.Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -
Boat got lifted in yesterday and I took her off the quay and helmed her down the channel while the engineer checked and commissioned my new engine and then I put her on the pontoon without a hitch! Feeling very satisfied although I was somewhat nervous at the time. Today I'll go on board and do a tidy up and maybe take her out later with DS to check everything OK. Got to have her all shipshape when we go to visit Monna!
Mar - DH has taken his trike out today for a run with a friend - he was up early and I got tea in bed!!
Hope everyone gets the chance to enjoy some sunshine today xSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -

Hoping to get some gardening done here too
It's a lovely sunny day.
Brother is still in hospital, apparently he has DVT in his leg and pneumonia and they are only treating the symptoms, but sister-in-law has apparently been told he's "improving" so we shall just have to wait and see how he goes on. Different doctors have said different things, they don't seem to confer!
ETA Hi Cheapskate, how lovely to have you back :j
silvasava Great news about the boat0 -
Good to hear you sounding so positive mar, hope you have a long and happy summer on that bike.
Well done with the boat silva, you'll be over to see monna in no time. By the way, if you see her, tell her that the road diggers are back causing chaos!
We had gloriouis sunshine earlier but the sky has clouded over, don't mind what it does as long as the washing is dry. I have to go up to Glasgow soon to collect my Aunt, she is travelling on the train from Chester and I have to help her off the train - she was going to ask for assistance but decided that I could do it instead! Just hope they let me on the platform.0 -
Cheapskate, lovely to have you back. Good luck with trying to understand what has been going on in your absence. I've been here all along and it's a complete mystery to me.
Ivyleaf, t'was ever thus with doctors and hospitals. In spite of all the computer systems that nurses seem welded to, in spite of all forms of instant communication, the left hand still doesn't seem to have a clue what the right hand is up to. Whatever it is they seem to keep it a deep, dark secret from the GP.
Silvasava. Quite right too. I expect everything to be Bristol fashion when I inspect the gin palace from the safety of the harbour edge.
Let's hope it doesn't happen too soon as I am obviously going to have to do some work on myself to make sure I measure up.
Camelot, would you like me to send up some of my corned beef sandwiches? They did the trick of shifting them away from our neck of the woods.
We also have a glorious day here. The dogs have had a rampage on the beach and are now sleeping it off. I intend to spend the rest of the 'day of rest' doing just that. Resting.

Went a bit cloudy here too, but at 11C it was ok. I did a bit of pottering, got tired, and am now doing a monna. Resting.0

I'm resting too...each did a 4-hour stint on the lottie (mine was 11-3, his was 1-5!), then I came in, washed up, washed & chopped 2kg of rhubarb for roasting, feeding & vodka and then had a shower. Now about to have a glass of sherry before we have oxtail with carrot & parsnip mash and then roasted rhubarb with yogurt for tea2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I spoke way too soon about being back! The internet died. We're still without phone line and trying not to think too hard about how we can even have internet without phone line (NFI).
Floss, dinner sounds delicious, if there are leftovers I'll be round for them shortly.
Ivyleaf, I see a lot of DVT in patients at work and it seems managing it is a bit hit and miss, mostly depending on where it is and whether it seems to respond to treatment. Sometimes it goes on for a while before it resolves and as for different opinions, it's probably because there are a variety of options to treat it. Fingers crossed your brother is better soon.
Nursemaggie, the best thing we got for drying big things in the flat was the dehumidifier, you could fold a sheet over a small airer and it would still dry it throughout. Though I suspect you don't have the room for the dehumidifier in the first place.
I've booked a trip to England in June. Should be safely out of the way before the new energised Mardatha hits the streetsSoftstuff- Officially better than 0070
