Oh, and after that, the little brat diet - bananas, rice, apples (stewed) and toast. After that lot, they'll be begging to eat properly
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

Flat coca cola with a tiny pinch of salt and diluted with water also works. Full fat obviously for the sugar

A glass of Coke or Pepsi and a handful of rich tea biscuits then a good sleep, followed about 3 hours later by husband-made toast for me!

Might do if she would drink cola. She must be one of the few children in this country who dislikes the stuff. Something that usually pleases us.
Will get DS2 to try Lucozade though.

Personally I would not have taken her to her other grandmother's funeral on Wednesday but DIL is convinced that it is the right thing to do. She may be right so I will do my best to be supportive. DS2 is being brilliant, looking after Pickle, supporting his wife, dealing with the dogs, doing all the washing and keeping the house clean and tidy. I feel quite redundant but proud that I brought up such a capable and domesticated son.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that coke can be medicinal :rotfl: People didn't believe me when I said that and a big mac could settle my stomach when nothing else would. Hope Pickle feels better soon.

Nursemaggie I'm about to try wallpapering too (well in a few weeks ), for the first time. I picked a simple room also and a paper with no pattern match. All tips gratefully received.

Softstuff. Tip 1. Paste the wall as well as the paper. makes it much easier to slide the paper into position.

Tip 2. If you think it looks awful when you have finished, with bubbles in the paper, don't despair. The next morning it will look so much better when it has dried.

Hope pickle feels better soon. Wish I lived a bit closer as would be happy to help out with the dogs even the Tasmanian devil as I walk with a friend who has 2 so know all their foibles lol.
Hester hope your L&M feels better soon and you get a chance to rest as well
Good luck to those who are papering xx

Monnagran I remember Dixon of Dock Green although I preferred the later faster paced Z Cars series. As you can tell sleep is eluding me at the moment because my brain doesn't want to shut down and my DH is snoring! So having a cup of tea before I retire to bed again. Will be fit for nothing tomorrow I expect:rotfl:

Hi nannywindow. I know just what you mean. I have no hesitation in going back to bed or having an extra long lie-in. Retirement is aptly named.

However this morning DS2 is going to drop me off in the next town on his way to the ferry so that I can pay a cheque into the bank. A journey that takes 15 minutes in the car and over an hour on the bus. So no staying in bed today.

Years ago I remember going to work one Saturday night and leaving the RV and our next door neighbour to paper my livingroom... this neighbour was from up on the islands and liked his drink. And he made terrific home brew..
I came home, really shattered after a horrible night (in a ward full of children & babies with whooping cough)- and burst into tears. I thankfully can't remember the full horror. But it was bad.
And so was the RV's hangover when he eventually came out of hiding. :rotfl::rotfl:
