There seems to be some nasty bugs around at the moment, all my DGCS seem to have something. I hope pickle feels ok monna and I hope you manage to persuade the dog to get out of your bed.
Well I've managed a couple of hours sleep but I think that's it until it's time to get up, then I'll be sleepy.
The boat is ours today, yesterday I organised the licence and insurance etc, so it will all be legal.
My L&M is in a permanent grump at the moment, his foot is still painful, he's not getting on with his new hearing aids and he's impatient with the speed things are happening with the boat.
He wants to be up there getting things done and he can't be.Chin up, Titus out.0 -
And apparently I'm keeping him awake as I'm jiggling the whole bed with my one finger typing!Chin up, Titus out.0

Sorry that I wasn't around last night Hester. Not only would he have been kept awake by your typing jiggling we could have annoyed him thoroughly by giggling the night away.
I, for the first time in ages, have slept for about 6 hours straight off. Gosh, it's a different world isn't it?
Well burtha, actually I do feel as though I am getting somewhere with the hound. S...L...O...W...L...Y.
The turning the back on her when she jumps up works, although she hasn't yet twigged that it happens every time and it might be a good idea not to bother.
Walking her is still the only entertainment some of the neighbours get. I have never seen a dog jump so high from a standing position. Talk about a vertical take off. But I am doggedly (sorry) keeping up with the walking back, untangling the lead, walking forward, untangling the lead, stopping when she pulls, untangling the lead..............
and all the time we can hear the distant howls of anguish from Millie-dog who has been left in the house and is missing all the fun. She almost, but not quite, drowns out the sound of sniggering from the legion of other dog-walkers we meet while we're out. I am certain that there is someone posted outside the house whose job it is to alert all the other dog owners in the locality when Dora and I emerge.
"She's coming. The door's opening. Yes. I can see she's holding something, it could be a lead. Well, I can't see the dog....wait a minute... yes....with my binoculars I can see something above the rooftops. Hurry everyone, the show's just starting."
It's not even my dog.

Docky could do a vertical 'ping' that easily took him on to a 6' wall to look down to us walking at ground level, he also mastered the are of tucking his legs under and rolling down bakns!!!0

Lyn, do you think that Docky's spirit could now be occupying a young dalmation?
If so, I am going to start the spelling lessons NOW.

Monnagran well done on the long sleep:) I also slept well apart from the 3 loo calls.
Hester congrats on your new boat. I thought of you and your L&M as being the new Rosy and Jim but after reading about your problems;) last night, I think you could be capt Pugwash and send your OH to the crows nest out of the way!Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
My DD loved Rosie & Jim when she was young. It looks to be such a relaxing life.0

Hester congratulations on the new boat ,pity the L&M carnt get on with the boat .
Monna , entertainment value is what the dog is obviously going for lol . If it makes you feel any better , I am struggling with 2 of the pups we kept last year ,honestly think they have springs instead of legs . Our kennels have about an 8ft run on them , the 2 idiots jump from kennel house door , bounce once ,hit the end kennel door about 6 ft up , spring back, bounce once back to house door , then repeat , repeat, repeat . Roll on the start of the shooting season , dh is going to have so much fun
thankfully exams are finished for dd , stress levels hopefully will now return to normal , heaven help us for next year , she had 5 hrs of art today , so last night looked ill, worried, scared of doing it wrong, panic at what room it was in , what was expected from her and so on and so on . No sleep for the last 2 weeks . Now she just thinks she has failed them all ....
next week ds start his end of year exams , thankfully he is Nothing like his sister ....more likely to fall asleep in the exams .... If he ends up in the right room/ exams anyway ..:rotfl:
so on count down now to the weekend, and hopefully a day off , dh has done 13 hour days for the last 4 ,1 more to do , then bar stuff on top of that , so both of us are a bit tired ....
Right must move ,can't hide from the washing any longer ..£223/ £250 GC0 -
Your DD sounds like mine was burtha. She used to get into such a state. She did a lot of work at home for GCSEs She would spend hours on her essays and then tear them up because one letter was not perfect, so imperfect only she could see it. Ge got 10 A+s.
She was even worse for A levels even after getting A+s for AS levels. She got even worse at uni and ended up taking all of her exams twice and failing finals because she was so nervous. I think she may have improved as she has taken three diplomas since.
I don't know how you two manage with all the work you do. Slow down before you get something else besides that brain tumour.0 -
