Got interrupted by the phone with my last post. A woman asked for me, when I said speaking she slammed the phone down?????? It's been ringing all afternoon with sales men.

I don't ask personally who is speaking. I wait for the person at the other end to announce their identity - unless it's a friend/relative (in which case I will know who they are as soon as I hear their voice).

If the identity they announce is obviously "A.N. Other from some anonymous firm nowt to do with me" then I don't say another word. I just put the phone straight back down on the hook.

Thank goodness the firm that used to keep ringing at regular intervals when I first moved here and asked for "Mrs Different Surname to mine - but it was the same surname every time" finally gave up months later. I think the staff were probably reporting back that the phone was being literally slammed down - very hard - on them (ie after the first few phonecalls - where benefit of doubt was given that it was a wrong number).

moneyI did not ask. It's up to the caller to say who they are SHE asked for me by name and SHE then slammed the phone down when I said speaking. Don't you understand that is what you say when someone asks for you?

I went to get a plant pot in an aisle in ikea once and returned with a large dining table pre-assembled on a trolley. I can still recall mums face now.

So, we've decided the house isn't ready and we're not ready for a pup. There's still a lot of reno left to do and it'll be even harder with a greyhound around. So we're going to see her on Tuesday.... ahem We'll see if she still likes us and maybe arrange for her to visit here.

Thanks maggie - this morning I'm full of beans and feeling really great. Stripped the bed, cleaned cat's box, remade bed, put washing on.. already. Unheard of!
We have heavy snow up here, it's all lovely and white and my back garden is a sea of birds eating Aldi digestives

I got up to head to the market, went for brekkie out while the laudry was washing at the launderette before going back to bed! Got up for a couple of hours gardening then dinner, heading back to bed soon. Mardatha, you're officially more active than me in a morning :T

I think TPTB should be afraid. Mardatha was a force to be reckoned with when she was effectively sedated. Now who knows what will happen

Get this month over and then maybe just start thinking about the garden. I never touched it at all last year and it looked the best it ever has but I missed my veg.
