Hope it gets done and you recover fast Ivy xx

Wee bit windy here. :p I was just loading Hubs wheelchair into the car when I heard a big whoosh. I turned round and a tree had fallen and lucky for me it went sideways instead of forwards otherwise I would be elsewhere right now  I went in the house and was shaking like a leaf which was apt! I was laughing when I told Hubby but it may have been a tad hysterical.

Having a quiet day of pottering before Dgs gets here. Hope everyone is is safe and warm x

Lucky ginny! We've got hellish wind here too and flurries of snow. Bins flying all over the street as its bucket day, but no trees thankfully!

Lots of wind here too. Streets are full of rubbish so must be from yesterday. Our front garden is full of recycling stuff. It was recycling bin day yesterday not ordinary bins. The rubbish is probably being whipped up from back yards where bins have been blown over.

I did set off for a walk as it is nice and sunny but was too difficult to walk in the wind.
  • Not that it's busy at work, much!
I've used 62,500 sheets of paper in 5 days!
2 members of staff were asked why they had done so much colour copying, they both claimed that I must have done it on their budget!
It doesn't work like that but both are swearing black's blue that it's my fault, so tomorrow I shall explain again, to their line manager, how the system works!
Why can't people just accept that they have done copying on the wrong machine (despite me telling them numerous times that it would cost them more) why do they always have to try and pass the buck!
    And breathe!
    Chin up, Titus out.
  • Ivyleaf hope you're ok.
Absolutely wild here - power off slightly further north so prepped for that. Massive hale showers interspersed with sun - feels a bit eerie to be honest! Snow forecast for later so fingers crossed!!!!

Mar stay safe up the hill :)

Ooh - that sounds scary ginny - glad you weren't harmed.

Blue skies and mild weather here today - warm enough to be out in just a jumper and no coat... DS2 and DS3 are desperate for snow - not sure we're going to get any (last time I remember a decent amount (rather than a few flakes) was Jan 2010)

To those in the bad weather - stay safe and warm x

    Hi everyone,

i'm a long time lurker but a long time money saver too.... not that it ever does me any good as there is always something that knocks me back to square one. I've been reading all your posts and could do with some advice.

Basically I met my husband 20 years ago and we were childhood sweethearts and together a couple of years. We split up and both had children with other people (me 1 daughter and him 4 boys). We got back in contact nine years ago and to be honest it gave us the courage and reason to leave our respective partners and bad relationships. We got back together and have a made a life together. One by one, each of his boys came to live with us due to their mother not being able to cope. We spent a good few years making excuses for her to the kids and putting up with her ridiculous demands and intermittent visits to the children. We never asked for a penny from her even though we are not rich by any means. anyway, to cut a long story short one of the boys went back to live with her in august 2014 (and since has been out of school, in trouble with the police..... supposedly he has been diagnosed ADHD and allegedly he has been prescribed medication however she literally dumped him on our doorstep and left him with us for four months and never mentioned medication so I'm wondering if again it is just nonsense so that she can blame something else for his bad behaviour rather that her own poor attempt at parenting....I don't profess to be the best mother on the planet at all but allowing a 10 year old child to do whatever he wants and not go to school and allow him to smoke and not give him any consequence to his actions is not the way to go. Now that she wants to discipline him (he's 12 now) he is having none of it and is violent and abusive.

anyway, to cut a long story short... there has been a mix up with our tax credits claim. she said she wasn't claiming for him but according to records that have come through the door today she has been. So we'll be left with a massive over payment to pay back. we are already at our limit funds wise. we find it hard to pay for anything!! We've cut back on everything but don't want the kids to miss out at all. Already had to tell the oldest we cant afford his school trip.

sorry for the ramble but I just needed to get it all out. I'm having to support my husband and I don't want to dump all my anger and fear over this on to him, he has enough to worry about.

    I'm just out of ideas.:(

Thanks for letting me ramble and best wishes to all xx
