I have three tattoos. They're identical. Each is a black dot. I asked for pandas but they said "No". They have probably saved my life, well at least I hope so! I also have pierced ears, done when I was 14 years old
In the interests of total honesty, I skipped school and went to the jeweller's to get the ear piercing with my best friend who already had pierced ears. My mum had said I could get them done for my birthday.
You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
I'm so old my ears were pierced by a friend's mother with a hot sewing needle and an ice cube. I was twelve yrs old and I gave her three dollars birthday money to pierce them. That's how it was done back then.Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Churchmouse, I have 2 black dots, and like you I am sure they saved my life. Only Himself and I have seen them and I wear them with pride

I have done pierced ears - not much choice of earrings otherwise (as an adult in a branch of Dingles - "clunk" with machine on one ear and ditto on other ear). It was a waste of my time and money to have a second ear-piercing nearby (back in the era when it was fashionable to wear a couple of pairs of earrings or more at a time) and it darn soon closed over again. Also had my nose done at one point - but soon came to the conclusion that my looks aren't "exotic" enough for nose studs (now maybe if I'd had olive skin/dark hair/etc/etc - instead of pale skin and mouse-coloured hair....) - "English Rose 'r us" colouring I guess....not the sort of colouring one wants getting older (ie you fade from pale to even pale-r once the hair turns white).
Question for the day - what is the reference to "black dots" please? I gather it's something "medical" - but haven't any idea what it is...0 -
Money - the black dots are tattoos that hospitals do to line up the linear accelerator that does the radiography for cancer. I used to have two too but one in the middle of my chest showed if I wore a low cut top occasionally, it looked like a blackhead and I was quite self conscious about it so I had it removed about a year ago the other one only DH can seeSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

When I got sterilised I thought about getting 3 dots tattooed in my ear like dogs do when they get neutered :rotfl:I've always fancied tattoos but react to everything so haven't. If I didn't react i think by now I'd look like a tattooed lady in a circus. I'd also get more piercings. Since I got the second lot in my ears as a kid, even surgical steel makes them inflamed after a couple of hours.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070

Same here Softstuff, I have pierced ears but have to wear silver earrings (or presumably gold, but never had a gold pair.) I had mine done when I was 16.0 -
We've just spent an entertaining hour playing hangman with DGD5, it's difficult to guess a word that has one letter and two sounds, it was cow.
She has us in stitches, I had a bad night last night, went to bed early and was asleep by 10, woke at 12ish, read until 4:30, DGD was up at 5:30!
Mind you she can tell the time on my kitchen clock and it isn't digital, at work we have digital clocks as so many of the students cannot read anything else.Chin up, Titus out.0 -
Hester that reminds me of the time we were playing "I spy" with our DDs when the younger one was just 4. It was her turn and she said "I spy with my little eye, something beginning with B". We tried for ages and couldn't guess, and in the end we said "We give up! What is it?"
"BATATOES!" she shrieked triumphantly.0
