No tattoos for me but I am very aware that I am in the minority. I have seen some beautiful works of art on women's arms but it's just not for me.
Likewise I saw the most beautiful rose gold tinted hair today. It really did look fab but it isn't for me.
Those things, however fab, would make me feel self conscious. I like to blend in. It's about how people feel about themselves that speaks volumes dontcha think? My SIL colours her short hair bright blue. She admits that she does that because she would rather have people say 'look at her blue hair!' than 'look at the size of her!'
Sad innit?0 -
No tattoo's for me either, but I do have body piercings, each to his own.
Still tearing my hair out here, bloody solicitors are being a pain in the proverbial.Chin up, Titus out.0 -
Maybe tattos are something that's a bit location-specific? - and I come from an area where I can't think of anyone I know (of either sex) that has them other than one former work colleague.
I know a few women here with them - and my mind boggles at going through pain to have some - but each to their own.....
Personal motto time of "If something is painful/uncomfortable/cold/etc/etc....I'm outa here....not for me:rotfl:".
I'll pass on that personally.....you're allowed to call me a soft Southerner:rotfl:0 -

Perhaps rather than being a "regional" thing, people don't have their tattoo(s) on show, and don't talk about them.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Funny you should mention that Ivyleaf - I used to buy in CC when they were on sale because of the lovely quality but I ordered 3 tops a few years ago online - when they arrived I was very disappointed as the quality was nowhere near the same. All three have been CS'd but previous ones are still being worn. Find M&Co nice quality, but again tend to buy on sale!
Ooh, I've heard of them but never looked at their website! Thanks for that0 -
Fuddle I'm with you on tattoos. My DH has one on his arm that was done when he was about 16 when he was in the merchant navy. It's just an inky splodge now after 50 odd years lol. My DGD has a couple but each to their own. I must admit i was 35 before I had my ears pierced! Hair is another matter though. Whatever you do it will grow out so if you fancy a different style or colour however outlandish go for it!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

DH has one too silvasava. It used to accompany his biceps quite nicely but er...seems to sit on a flat area of skin these days. It's not my cup of tea but I would have let one helluva fella go if I judged him on his tattoo0

I am not having a go at tattoos per se, just the way they look on old wrinkled skin. I know several ladies who have very discreet designs but they are not for general consumption! The only tattooing I have had done was semi-permanent eye liner, loved the result but had a bad reaction unfortunately. Like Fuddle, I just like to blend in. I think I am strange enough on the inside!Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14

I don't have pierced ears or a tattoo. I think I am of the same school as Money, I would rather not have pain and I really don't like tattoos.
I will put up with pain when it is necessary like the mammogram or my flu jab with the bent needle. I shut my eyes and pulled a face today when they took my blood at the Christie today. Did not feel a thing. Don't have to go till February now. Thinking I may go to Manchester before Christmas was looking Christmassy and the Christmas market is on.
Was walking along looking in the window of Primarni at all the party dresses I will never wear again. There was this lovely little dress for a 4 or 5 year old in shiny bright Red tartan with a long sleeve bolero over it. Two women were walking towards me and one said to the other Oh isn't that cute! That was just what I was thinking. I saw some nice Christmassy PJs, I think as it is Primarni I might afford them and wear them with my dressing-gown softstuff named Rudi.
I am wrapped up in him now as it teamed it down all morning and it we've had that raw North East wind all day.0
