D'you know Mar, I feel quite cheated that the heifer has changed her spots. I will have to send the elephant to the Battersea elephant home, send the armour to the CS and send the weapons to the back of the garage.
However, I am absolutely thrilled that at long last you can see a glimpse of light at the end of your tunnel. Let's hope and pray that it happens quickly.
Hester. I will get all my armaments back again to go into battle against the L&M's line manager if you say the word. Where do these people get the nerve from? She must be exhausted with all that wriggling out of trouble.
What's that saying? "It's not a matter of win or lose, it's where you lay the blame."
If something doesn't start going right for you soon I'll...............I'll........goodness, I'm lost for words.
Retires spluttering.

Consultant phoned me at 6.30 last night - she must be on overtime. Told me just what was going on with me, and agreed I'm under-medicated so can up my steroids starting now. So hopefully this will give me a better quality of life. This was the one I've been calling the heifer, and she was so helpful and nice that I feel really bad now
:D
Consultants don't get overtime. She's probably just trying to catch up on her work and finally made it to you. I've always found that the sympathetic medics aren't nearly as good as the matter of fact ones - and certainly when I've been really ill I've been grateful for the directness and lack of sympathy, as the latter would have tipped me over the edge. The straightfoward factual approach has always made it much easier to deal with.
Having said that, the consultant who has been looking after me for the last 6 years is retiring suddenly. I can only assume he is unwell as his secretary seemed rather upset and said it was sudden, and he had promised me that he wouldn't be retiring until I was discharged (which is probably 10-15 years away). I need to write to him to say thank you for all the care and treatment. And I also need to start researching alternatives.
Hester - if you haven't already ventured onto the employment board I'd have a look. Just because you work in the same place as your L&M doesn't mean to say that they can use information about your situation to judge his. And do document everything that you do at home to reduce stress, making clear YOU are doing at home what his employer should be doing at work. Just in case it goes to tribunal (and because it is stress-related they'll be banking on you not taking it further, but now is probably the time to check your grievance policy and process).
I really should get on and do some work, but I finished after midnight last night and have been waking up headachy (and late) in the mornings this week. I've had a twitch is my lower eyelid for a couple of weeks, but sleep doesn't seem to be something you can 'catch up' on. I think I need to find time for fresh air and exercise. And laundry, and housework, and work, and gardening...0 -

Just a shot in the dark............. I seem to recall reading somewhere about making yogurt in the slow cooker. Was it on here? Does anyone else remember it?
What interests me as much as the yogurt making is that someone else (or it might have been the same person) mentioned that she made lemon curd the same way.
It sounds EASY and therefore desirable.

Try this monna... although there are plenty of other recipes (I have a couple in SC books, but have no idea which box they are in)
http://www.food.com/recipe/the-national-trust-heritage-lemon-curd-crock-pot-or-traditional-275052
or this one

I've made yogurt in the SC Monna. The best tip I could give is to make sure the recipe says to add dried milk powder. I had terrible results without using it. You can also make it in a flask or as I have done, sat on a radiator. Look up Hugh Fernley Wittingstall radiator yogurt. I have had the most success with his methods. Hope to help

Now lemon curd is very appealing and something to research when I get home.0 -
I hope Mr Bassett has battened down the hatches because at full power you'll be a sweetie fiend to be reckoned with Mardatha. Maybe you softened the heifer up.
Hester, I have a new crow bar and mallet and I'm not afraid to brandish them, I'll be behind Monnas elephant. Not too closely. The truth will certainly come out in the wash, but what a bloody cheek that cow has.
Hugs Pollyanna, hope you're better soon.
Greenbee, I just read a book by Richard Wiseman, The Power of Sleep. Well worth a look, I've spent much more time napping since :rotfl:Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
What is extra annoying is this, is the same silly twosac.k who claimed I was having an affair with my copier engineer. When I didn't want to change suppliers. Actually y having dealt with some rubbish copier companies I just wanted to stay with a reliable companyChin up, Titus out.0

Surely that accusation is grounds for a grievance and for her not to be involved in your L&Ms case as she's clearly a. nuts or b. has some kind of bias about you.
I'd be taking advice.0 -
Polly sorry wasn't very clear, I can have the pneumo jag but they cannot get hold of any. I'm down at the hospital next Thursday (if I get over this bug I seem to have) and will ask for it there if we don't have supplies up here before then.
Hope you and DD soon feel better - I'm feeling meh!!!0
