  • SS, all my bondage stuff has sold very well so far, I got £37 for a couple of outfits, £12 for some home made spreader bars and the same for some chains that came from B&Q!
Off to work soon and all the ensuing chaos that will develop, wish me luck, only 5 more years to go, lol.
    Chin up, Titus out.
  • Morning all,

Everything is back to normal today. OH's pupils are back and I'm back on my normal schedule although I still have a few weeks before I meet my students.

I got another portion of soup in the freezer last night--the goal is 10-12 bags so there is approximately one per week of term. I won't quite make that but it is a start. Tonight is spanikopita again. I have meetings out and about today so will do a few errands to make the most of my bus pass. I'm just finishing off my porridge at my desk now and Maggie the cat is in the window next to me looking out mournfully at the road. It is very gray and wet here and I think she knows the days of long romps in the garden are coming to a close again. I'm hoping it clears as is forecast as I've got sheets in the machine which I'm planning to hang out before I leave!

Burtha, big hugs. I hope your headache improves I know it is all go at yours. Very sorry to hear about your friend's mum.x

Good luck Hester  Thinking of oyu.

Softstuff What you said made me go and check to see what brand our microwave is. It's a Russell Hobbs but I don't know if you can get those in Aus. It was the cheapest one we could find in Sainsbury's when the previous one (brought back by DD2 after 3 years at uni) went west. Several years old but doing well so far.

burtha sending gentle (((HUGS)), so sorry about the headache :(

Mardatha How are you doing? Thinking of you.

FPk I hope you and OH have a good term :)

Been raining hard this morning but just easing off, so the builders have started work later than usual. Perhaps we can escape from the hammering to DD1's later.

I'm fine ta ivy, pottering around the house slowly until I get seen at the hospital on the 19th. Weather here hasn't been wet - yesterday was really nice, but today is dull and windy. The double glazing has developed a horrible keening and whining sound and it's a bit like living with Scott in the Antarctic.
Been meal planning a bit as well - very low carb - as reading about the horrors of life on steroids piling the weight on.

The weight you gain with steroids is just water retention, mar. If you have much of a problem they may give you something to get rid of it. I would not go on a diet yet as you have already lost some weight.

Hester, thanks, I'll add ebay listing to my todo list.

Ivyleaf, I don't know anyone who's had as much bother with a microwave, regardless of brand, but this Breville model reviews terribly. Of course, when I bought it, it didn't, but it seems to fail 10-15 months in.

Can't get water pills with Add maggie as you can't hold onto sodium. I'm just getting ahead of meself as usual and might not put that much on anyway. I've stopped losing weight now and just put back a couple of lbs - this was with extra steroids because of an abcess.
Lot of fuss in the papers this morning about supermarket meat eh? Scary.

Yeah I've been reading that too Mar. I've had my doubts since the consumer was told not to wash chicken for fear of spread of bacteria.

Where the heck I picked up my bugs from I don't know. Tested for everything from Legionella to allergy. For someone so fit and healthy like me to go down like a day of fatties is frightening. (Did a Monna - was supposed to be sack of tatties!) I see a paranoia coming on that will be life long now... supermarket meat is just adding to my despair. What to do?!

Cooking rice pudding in the slow cooker for supper. I added raisins and mixed spice. Smells yummy. :D

Having a bit of wobbly crisis re: eldest DD. She starts Big school tomorrow and is so excited. Honestly she amazes me. She tells me that all the school changes means that this one is doddle because everyone will be worried and she's used to being the new kid so being the new kid amongst new kids is nothing. Anyway my wobble stems from what is appropriate for her packed lunch!! Will strawberries set is jelly be too childish? Are rice cakes too babyish now? She's not bothered but I'm way over thinking things. She looks smashingly smart. She has her bus pass and her key (as I will be out picking youngest up from school as she gets home) but even though she's confident I am crying inside at having to let my young lassie, however sensible, out if my sight and be responsible. To top it off she came in to me last night and said she may need a razor soon as she thinks there's fluff developing under her arm pits!!! Now considering I wasn't allowed a bra for my too big boobies at secondary school or allowed to shave my underarms incase of attracting the wrong kind of attention, my flat chested bra wearing daughter coming to me so relaxed means I have done something right but er.... I'm too young to me the mam of a kid starting puberty!

I feel out of my comfort zone... So I shall get back in it and stir me rice pudding :rotfl:

Fuddle do you have any farm shops near you, where you can be aware of your meat's back-story? We tend to buy at the two fam shops recommended by our former butcher (his shop was the victim of his divorce) with special orders from a Lake District farm who sell at our local farmers market.
