Happy Anniversary to Floss and to FPk
Jazee What a little sweetheart she isI bet you'll have lots of fun with her!
Candygirl I hope you'll soon find exactly the right friend for Buddy ((HUGS))
Not got a lot to say for myself today. The builders are busy with angle grinders and hammers over the road and I've ended up with a headache  They've usually finished work by now on a Saturday, but I think they're trying to get all the roofing timbers sorted before the weather turns.
They're doing a great job though, I think the finished houses will look beautiful. I think we'll all be glad when it's done, even though it means we'll lose two parking spaces across the road so the people living in the new houses will be able to get their cars in and out.0 -

Thanks for the good wishes - DH was given an old iron key and I was given an original Monopoly iron! I also got a bottle of the perfume he gave me when we married, the old romantic!
Decided to cook a "roast" for our meal later - just spent an hour making an apricot, feta & pine nut stuffing that is now tied into a boned shoulder of lambWill serve with couscous & a cherry-tomato salad (to use up some of the glut) and there should be plenty of leftovers for the freezer. Also picked up a YS freely arranged orgasmic chicken, which will go in the oven at the same time, to be eaten cold during the week.
Am now waiting for the tennis to start and debating whether to do some ironing while I'm watching...or I could fold more paper flowers!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Happy anniversaries to all who have them. It must be a favourite time for weddings, CD, DIL and Pickle are in Cornwall for a wedding this weekend. DGS14 and I have been left to our own devices.
Yesterday we started cleaning off a massive metal cupboard in the garden. It was originally cream but I have never known it without a good coating of mould, green slime and goodness knows what else. Half way through our ministrations with soap, brooms, scrapers, sponges and cloths the heavens opened. We looked at each other, soaked and filthy, giggled and carried on.
My goodness, it is gleaming now. We keep going to the window to take another look at it.
Today, looking slightly more respectable, we took ourselves off on the bus to the next town. We spent a good deal of my money in the pound shop, swept into subway and splashed the cash on a sub, salad and a drink, repaired to the seafront and indulged in a rum and raisin ice cream, (DGS thinks that eating something with rum in is the height of sophistication), caught the bus home and here we are. The wind has increased alarmingly and the rain has started so we are now holed up and being cosy.
The family are back tomorrow and normal service will be resumed.

Happy anniversary FPK and Floss
Bonny pup there jazee... enjoy!
Finally off the painkillersI'm getting there!
Now don't be telling me off but I have a new projectSee MIL has a new sofa and given us her old one. It's very comfy so my sofas are relegated to the extension in The kitchen. I'm keeping one but the second we're going to take to bits to make a armless chair and footstool for the bedroom. Obviously I'm not up to the physical work just yet so it will be a long drawn out process as DH is pretty time poor but it's fab to have a DIY project again.
Well I'll leave you to enjoy my Saturday night by candlelight. It's soggy outdoors this evening but cosy indoors.0 -
Well Fuddle, there is upcycling and there is cannibalizing a sofa to make an aimless chair (ARMLESS you stupid tablet, ARMLESS) and a stool.
I am eagerly waiting for you to make your new evening project removing the top storey of your house and making it into a bungalow and a garage. Nothing would surprise me.
My finger is wagging in your direction as I say very quietly "don't overdo it".
