The Garden Fence - help and support in tough times

The rat man cometh, yet again DD had a visit from the Rat Man, it is costing an arm and a leg so my hubby has offered to pay to help her out. Her dog will stay with us for another week.
DD is going camping for a week tomorrow, hopefully the house will be rat free upon her return. Though a lot depends on how next door get on clearing the house of the hoarder, they are on their 3rd huge skip.
Hubby's friend was meant to be arriving earlier this week but so far there has been no sign of him, no messages and so far, no more midnight phone calls.Chin up, Titus out.0 -
Hester why is your DD having to pay for the rat man if they know it is because of next door?Must use my stash up!0

The owner of the next door house is staying with friends whilst her house is being emptied and I can't see her offering to pay even when she's back, she's a bit loopy.
Not only is she a hoarder but she sprays water over DD's fence when the kids are in the garden, She throws her rubbish into the garden the otherside and can often be found ranting at various neighbours for imagined insults.Chin up, Titus out.0 -

He is having a reality check because he is now poor...... 'But I won't have any money for Bestival' - tough luck hunny bunny - at least you'll have a roof over your head.

My oh, my, I AM getting old. I remember when rat-catchers were employed by local councils as rats were deemed health threats. What happens if rats are spotted in public areas these days? Does no one report it in case they are stuck with the bill? Or are rats no longer considered to be a danger to public health?
Or does no one care particularly?
Your poor DD Hester. Can nothing be done about someone who is quite obviously in need of help, a nuisance to others and possibly a danger to herself?
Is this a human rights issue in that the perpetrators have rights but their victims have none?
I have lived too long and mourn the passing of dear old Common Sense.
Soap-box rant over. The injustice of situations like yours HH makes me despair.

Sorry she has to deal with all of that Hester. You wonder how some people, like her neighbour, survive the filthy environments they create for themselves in their own homes. How is she avoiding some horrible disease or at the very least a nasty skin condition. It's a shame rats don't stick closer to the cause of their attraction.
Islandmaid, the shock of the minute noodles might do him good!Softstuff- Officially better than 0070
