Woken by the racket of a load of geese flying over quite low- wonder if it's a sign of bad weather coming. Sometimes that happens within about 10 days of geese on the move here.0

Burtha - think it must be the time of year lol - DH just getting over cracking a bone in his foot when doing a charity ride & over the weekend got something nasty in his eye (how????) So we spent yesterday morning at the opticians and yesterday afternoon at the hospital. Can't think why he doesn't seem amused that after a month that of being called Long John he's now Blind Pugh
Fuddle you are right - I think it's probably because many of the oldies had hard lives in their youth so they certainly have the 'dont let the bu**ERS grind you down' attitude.
Sunny here so must crack on as nothing got done yesterday. Have a good day all xxSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Sending get-well wishes to fuddle and to the injured OHs!
DGD is doing fine and was allowed home once she was properly awake and once her blood oxygen levels were no worse than they've been for months anyway! Hoping once the swelling goes down she'll be able to sleep better and have more energy.
Oh, and her dad was despatched to our house to collect the colouring book
OH was in a lot of pain yesterday from nerve pain in his leg due to an old back injury. I wish he'd told me that before I asked to go shopping *rolls eyes* but at least he was able to spend the rest of the day with his feet up.
If he's better today we're taking DGS for new school shoes. The old ones still fit, but the soles are worn out due to playing football in the playground at every opportunity....his parents haven't time to keep remembering to check the children's shoes to see if repairs are needed, so in future I'll try to remember on their behalf.0 -
Get better soon fuddle!Must use my stash up!0

Ivyleaf: Ah! Boys! My eldest went to school in a new pair of shoes and returned with the TOES completely worn through. Apparently he had been playing a game that involved crawling around the asphalt playground.
What a lovely afternoon. I have been privileged to watch a great display of synchronised swimming by my 3yo DGD in her inflatable paddling pool. I had to present her with a gold medal, (jam jar lid).
She then presented me with a tube of sweets given to her in a party bag. They are called "millions" and they don't exaggerate. They are about the size and shape of mini-ball bearings and these particular ones are strawberry and cola flavoured. The strawberry ones are acceptable apparently, but the cola ones are not. Hence i have spent the last half hour sorting out improbably pink ball bearings (and trying not to think of the chemicals involved) from the pale brown rejected ones.
I'm having someone for misleading me. Trades descriptions possibly. I certainly don't remember signing up for sorting tiny sweets when I applied to be a grandmother.

Monna When my older two were aged 9 & 11 I found them along with a few friends out the back in the old caravan they had as a play house feeding a field mouse with millions. I remember it having a distinct taste for the pink ones.
I sent them back to the field they got it from to put it back. I appologise for my children endangering the life of a rare animal. We were at the time living on Anglesey a place rather like the Isle of Wight for having an abundance of rarer flora and fauna.0 -
Went to DD's this morning only to see a bloody great rat. She's called out pest control but as the house next door is over run the blighters keep coming back.
I have an idiot on eBay bidding on eBay for an item that is listed as collection only but he wants me to deliver it.
Hubby's friend is still arguing about what belongs to who, we are expecting him to arrive here this e evening. He has two motor bikes a car, a kit car and a motor home that he needs to store somewhere. We don't have room.
He has also decided not to go to the funeral.Chin up, Titus out.0 -
