  • Fuddle that sounds miserable! I hope you're more comfortable soon and that you make an easy recovery. I've only ever had mild pneumonia where I was able to treat at home, but even that wiped me out and I felt tired for months after--please don't try to take on too much when you get home. I know your lovely husband and girls will rally round and they need you healthy before they need anything else.

BurthaHonestly, I was hoping the ebay selling would go a bit better. The thing is, we don't wear a lot of branded stuff. It is all good quality, and most of it was business type clothing that just doesn't fit us anymore. None of that sold. The only things that have sold have been designer type items bought when we were both much younger and spend our money differently, all of those items had significant wear and tear but they seemed to sell fairly easily. I think if that is the sort of stuff you have then it may be worth it. Otherwise it does take a lot of time to get everything photographed and listed. We did it as a one-off and I doubt we'll sell again in the foreseeable as it just isn't worth the time investment to us. I think it took us around 3 full days (spread out, of course) of photographing, listing, monitoring and getting things packed now to send off.

Lots on today. We're off into town to do a bit of pre-term shopping. Notebooks and pens and the like. I slept very late this morning, it was after 9 when I woke up! We don't set an alarm in summer and I usually end up awake around 6:30 or 7 anyway. I must have been catching up from last night. I always find it difficult to sleep when we come in late. I have to be sort of 'on tap' for some work things this week so will just try to do work in and around and also do some errands and deep cleaning and just take it as it comes. OH is in later this week for results again. Maggie the cat has been sick a couple of times over the weekend. She has only been sick a total of two times before, so we're keeping an eye on her to see if she might need a trip to the vet. She seems otherwise her usual self and very daintily pushed OH's hand away with her paw this morning when we were both stroking her. Apparently she'd had enough of his variety :rotfl:.
  • Ivyleaf I meant to say that I hope all goes smoothly for your DGD and that the surgery is successful. I had an Uncle who had similar surgery and said it was life-changing afterwards.

Thank you :) She's out of theatre and recovering well. She's eight but I remembered that children tend to regress when unwell and enjoy doing things they liked when a couple of years younger, so i bought her a Frozen colouring book. Her Mum said DGD isn't that keen on Frozen any more, but when she heard about the book she sounded quite keen, so she can have that when we see her tomorrow and I'll see if I can get a more grown-up one for when she's feeling better but still needing to stay home to avoid infection.

Poor Fuddle. I was going to say what bad luck getting pneumonia in the summer but, then again, with luck you'll have some good weather to enjoy when you get home and it will help set you up. I had a bout of pneumonia one winter (very mild by comparison) and it did take a long time to bounce back, took until spring, but warmer weather definitely helps
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

I found it hurt to sleep on my side so bought a v shaped pillow and slept propped up for weeks. Don't push yourself too quickly and pace yourself carefully.

I'd second what Elona says, I've had pneumonia 3 times. Also it takes a lot longer to get over than you might think.

Thank you for your support ladies. :) I won't be able to go back to the charity shop next week when the schools go back then. I was already missing it. Oh bother at taking it easy but I could be in a lot worse pickle than not being able to be a blue-arrised-fly.

So many of you have had it. O e thing I have noticed being around people who are a lot more poorly than me is their spirit and determination not to let issues get them down. Im just wondering, as it's all very old ladies, if it more to do with that war time spirit or if younger people would be the same.

Too much time to ponder I think.
