Mila: I have discovered a similar thing. I eat the same thing (more or less) for breakfast every day, whatever I like for lunch, a cup of something and a small snack - often a bit of a treat - at about 5 pm and that is it, apart from water, until breakfast the next day. I do a lot of tooth brushing and mouth washing in the evening's to prevent me nibbling. At the moment I am 4 pounds off losing 3 stones. I wish I had discovered this years ago but I was brought up on 3 meals a day like most people.
My method won't work for everyone but as you have found, if it works for you, go for it.
Plays merry hell with your social life though. I find now that if I have a dinner in the evening I suffer all night.
Good luck with the tomatoes. There is nothing like sinking your teeth into a tomato still warm from the greenhouse. Gorgeous!.

I like your idea monnagran, but not sure it would work for me. I find it hard to get to sleep if I have my tea/dinner too early. Shame, because it obviously works very well for you
When I was getting the coral pink jacket from the coat rack yesterday I rescued a nice raincoat which had been hanging there unworn for a long time - I'm not sure why I stopped wearing it, I think it was because I bought a Berghaus jacket so was using that. I went through the pockets of the raincoat and found two receipts which were ten years old  I hadn't realised it was so long since I'd worn it! Anyway it's been washed now and will come back into play.
There's also a wool coat which I loved - just a simple classic navy double-breasted one - which is too small now. I could donate it, but really it would need to be dry-cleaned first and that's quite expensive, and I can't spare the money atm. I'm also remembering another really beautiful coat which I donated because I'd lost weight and it was too big to look nice - several years later I really wish I still had it as it would fit again nowso i don't know whether to keep the navy coat or not!

How small is too small Ivyleaf? As in, if you drop a few lbs it'll fit, or (like the pants I have in a box here) it's a bit of optimism thinking you'll be that size? If it's within reach I'd keep it, if not donate. I wouldn't think it had to be dry cleaned first, that's something for the buyer to do IMHO.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070

Well, it's a 14 (though still fitted ok when I was a 16 as it has raglan sleeves) but I'm now 18-20. The shoulders would still be ideal though, I have narrow shouldersAs to the dry cleaning it's been hidden at the back for years and has no cover on it so there's a layer of dust on the shoulders  I can't find the clothes brush for the life of me! Otherwise I could decide more easily. I'll mull it over for a while.
There's a nice apple green waterproof jacket too, which we bought in France the time I got on the ferry and realised I'd forgotten to pick up my rainjacket on the way out of the house
Another time I left it on the back of a chair at a motorway restaurant, again in France, so had to buy another
The current rainjacket is now the first thing I put in the car when we're going away
Later.....the apple green rainjacket has been washed ready to go to the hospice shop tomorrow. I tried on the navy coat and it does fit (a little snugly) over a teeshirt, but a chunky jumper wouldn't work
but it does still look nice, on so might get it cleaned and see if I can lose a few lbs. (in which case my nice teal blue fitted coat with set-in sleeves would look much better as well.)

Good news then Ivyleaf
, if you want to get the dust off I wonder if sticky tape would help, like it does for fluff.

Rubber gloves are great for getting fur and dust off.
Put 'em on and brush your hands over whatever you want to clean - the rubber drags the dust or fur into balls and makes it easier get off.:hello:0 -
Tiddlywinks So they are! Thank you.
Come to think of it we have a lint roller somewhere too, and a clothes brush somewhere.....when DS comes down I'll get him to see if one or both of those has fallen down behind the dryer.
I do know where the rubber gloves are though
Are you a bit of a night owl, Tiddlywinks? We have a few of those on here!0 -
I second the rubber gloves. Flora the cat has taken a fancy to my chair, and you would be amazed how much hair comes off the chair when using a rubber glove, I am surprised she isn't bald. Also very good for around the side of the chair where she rubs herself up against it.
I have a lint brush but it isn't anywhere near as good as the glove.

I am - I've got arthritis which sometimes makes it hard to get to sleep and so I sit up for a while to occupy my mind.
Nocturnal living is in my genes though - I remember my nan shouting down at my mum to go to bed as she had work in the morning. My mum was in her 40s at the time.. When she finally retired she'd be up til 3 or 4am watching tv or pottering with something.

I take it that a cheap pair will do and it doesn't need to be Marrigolds?
One black cat who loves lying on white beddingIts not that we have more patience as we grow older, its just that we're too tired to care about all the pointless drama0 -
Oh no, not M*rigolds just a cheap pack, I buy 2 pairs in a pack, can't remember how much, either £1 or £1.50 I think
