Oh yes, they bring their own love. You worry with the first one if you can love a baby at all. You worry with the second if you can love another one as much. Then you know that love isn't rationed - but you can't afford another one

  • Morning all,

Candygirl I'm very sorry to hear about your furry friend. I hope you find just the right companion to come and live with you and your family, but I know it will take time to adjust. Hugs.x

I'm just finishing off the menu plan for this week--I've got one left. I also realized I forgot to mention--my Mr T has tins of cannelini and kidney beans reduced to 10p and 13p. They had a few flats left, but they are on the 'end aisle' with other odd items rather than with the other tins. I got what I could carry last time I was in and will try to get a few more if they still have them next time I pop in.

We'll head off for the shop in a bit and then it is usual Sunday chores. I worked on altering some clothes yesterday as it rained in the end. I'm halfway finished with a skirt that I've altered once before but still needed a bit more work. It is a particularly fiddly job. I have some jeans that need to be hemmed that I got for £8 in a sale and another skirt bought at the vintage fair that still needs letting out. It is heavy wool so there wasn't much incentive to get it done. The skirt I was making for the wedding is ready to be hemmed once I get the one I'm altering off the dress form to pin it. I've tried getting OH to pin hems before and that was...a fashion statement I'd rather not make :rotfl:

Dh has bought himself a laser level. He thinks it's for DIY. I shall enlighten him later that it's really for marking hems

:rotfl:why do you think the purchasing committee approved it?

;) I'm pleased the purchasing committee has sensible spending ideas.

maryb, you are a genius! Such a good idea and I will use it if I ever need to (quite unlikely actually!).

There I was pulling weeds from the garden and I pulled a nettle that was poking through the fence. As if that wasn't stupid enough I tried again with the other hand! Nettle stings are really painful for me for absolutely ages (ok, I'm a wimp) so I've put everything away and come in to sulk.

Just had a shower of rain so brought the washing in, it can finish off on the airer.
  • I needed a good smile today and you lot have done it for me!

Candygirl much sympathy for you. They are truly part of the family.
My little Silky terrier's back legs kept going out from under him this morning. He's nearly 14 yrs and this has happened once before when he jumped off the bed. He hurts his back. I told my husband this morning that Toby is a floor dog from now on unless we are holding him. He's slept with us since he was 6 weeks old so this is really very sad. We just can't monitor him in the middle of the night so it has to be this way. It sucks to get old!
Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Oh Mila, you never spoke a truer word.

I'm sure Toby would agree with me that your body ages but your head just doesn't keep up. Toby and I may have to creak along at floor level but in our heads we are still springy, enthusiastic youngsters.

Give him a scratch behind the ears from me.
