I eventually had my gall bladder removed and I am so thankful the pain/nausea are over now. I went through that for several years. I can definitely empathize with you Ivy.
The plumber in now digging up the bathroom floor. I think I need to just adopt him as he has been here for so long. Kitchen drain and the part that runs the entire length of under the sitting room room floor has now been replaced, so just the guest bathroom to go...
We are having a section of our cinder block fence replaced. We got an estimate from a company in El Paso TX and it was $14,000. My husband saw a guy he coached in high school and got a recommendation for another local guy. He gave an estimate of $1,800 yesterday and we hired him then and there. He showed up with two other guys this morning at 7am and they look like worker bees out there.
DD2 is coming this weekend to pick up her dogs we have been keeping and to visit her ailing GF. Trisha is my step daughter and this is her mother's father. I married her dad when she was seven and raised her. (DH had custody) Anyway, the grandfather has been falling a lot but his wife does not want to bring in home health care. She was the head nurse at our local hospital for years and still thinks she can take care of things. I hope her children step in and gently convince her that it's time for assistance.
I was thinking that it must be so difficult to come to the realization your mate's health is compromised and that it's not going to get any better. Bless her.Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Hi, I am a newbie can I join you all? It took me ages to find the latest posts, so many pages, going back to 2015. I am a Libran and always trying to balance everything, but that doesn't always work, too much on my plate. Anyway, I love anything old, yes that includes people. I am a volunteer visitor at a local care home, as well as the relatives support person. I hate the fact that many of the residents there (Who have dementia), are placed in care and forgotton about!
I also love researching family history, I have a good friend who is a geneologist, she helped me build my trees. I am really good at tracking down church records, that way you can go much further back in history. Oh, I am a desendant of the Huguenots, Englands first refugees!
As for the previous post on gallstones, I had one stuck in my tube(agony), I had a really bad infection. I was on a drip in hospital for a week. They wanted to remove my gallbladder, but I refused, as I hate operations. i Started taking lecithin available at the health store. I have had no trouble with my gallbladder for 8 years now!
What shall we discuss next? Don't get me started on politics ha ha0 -

Ivyleaf, hope the pain subsides soon.
Good news about that fence Mila. I've found quotes here differ wildly. That said, I knkw have a few contractors that are so good I don't bother getting quotes from, because even if someone else was cheaper I wouldn't want them. Glad you're getting somewhere.
Hi Tipsandtreats, welcome!
We have 2 rooms tiled and grouted. Gave up a few weeks ago on the idea of doing them myself, not that I couldn't, but that we're aiming for a fair bit done by Christmas and paying a friend for a couple of weeks work to do a few of the things that would have taken a couple of months seems like a cheap deal.
I bought a mandarin tree yesterday. Intended to get a dwarf, forgot about that ehen I was at the store, mother in law assures me I can prune him :rotfl:Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Hi Milasavesmo,
The great thing about America is you have a lot more access to their census returns. They are not locked up like ours, the latest here being 1911. I have managed to go back to 1700 on some relatives. Any help needed? Message me privately, oh and it's free!
To all! I will reveal why I have so much on my plate. x0 -
Ohhh Tips what a generous offer! Currently, I have dead ends galore!Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Morning all and welcome to TipsandTreats.
Ivyleafsorry to hear about the pain, I've heard it is awful. I hope it subsides soon.
I woke up very early this morning, so I've done a bit of yoga, a bit of reading and just waiting for OH to wake up before I head down for some porridge. I'm getting a bit peckish, so I hope he hurries up but he has a bit of a cold so I'm trying not to wake him. Once I head downstairs Maggie the Cat will be on the prowl and will jump straight on his head.:rotfl:
We keep having thunderstorms forecast, but no sign of them. The house is still quite warm, although it was very pleasant outside yesterday, especially right before tea time. In laws were around yesterday and we had a nice catch up. We have a busy few days planned, but the house is all tidy again, washing is caught up and everything is ticking along.
I've just finished my first ball of wool on the scarf--or I will today, just a couple of rows left before I move to the next one. I'm still not to the halfway point. I don't know if I'm getting faster or not, but my fingers get less sore. I took a break after I finished the cardigan and when I started again I found I could only do a few rows before I had to stretch my hands.
Hugs to all who need them.x0
