The Garden Fence - help and support in tough times

I hop you don't mind T&T is easy to write.
You certainly need some tips and you must be desperate for some treats so I think we should start there.
I wish your long post was on the same page I am writing on, so as it's not I hope I don't miss anything. I will assume after all that travelling and other problems you're broke.
As the N of K of three vulnerable adults you are entitled to help from social services. Try to make an appointment with the person who is responsible for "Vulnerable Adults". You will really have to stick up for yourself because you are entitled to help as well as them. She/he will have all information on homes, care they can help you with and will know where to get help for applying for any benefits anyone is entitled to.
PIP is difficult to apply for so I think you deserve someone to help you with it all. If you are lucky you will have someone at your local council who will fill all the forms in for you and will help you to get through the process. Sorry if you have done all that.
I would advise you have them all as near to you as you can because you will have a lot of travelling between them all to do. The more help you can get from social services the better you will be able to cope. You sound like you could do with some respite now.
Look after yourself because, 1 no one else will, and 2 if you collapse with exhaustion how will anyone else cope.
We are all here for you to have a rant day and night because Softstuff is in Australia and Milla is in the USA and goes to bed as we get up. Monna has a habit of posting in the middle of the night too.
If you ever get that you can't cope don't feel guilty because no one should have to have that much to be responsible for.
I think you ought to be entitled to three carers allowances but I'm afraid you can only have one.
I hope you get lots of help.0 -
I did get the 10kg of rice at £7, they have lots left. It was all stacked flat in piles and not too high so I could get it into a trolley. On Sunday it was just propped upright and I just could not get it high enough. It was my height rather than the weight that caused the problem.
Where am I going to store it? Well certainly not in my wardrobe it's full of things that won't go in the kitchen. It will have to go on my bedroom floor and be fastened up with pegs, once it is open. I should have walked round and not come back down the steps. A young man arrived before I was half way down and lifted my trolley to the bottom.0 -
Nursemaggie I just had to say every time I see your name, I think of people who provide 'special services'. I have this image in my head of someone in a nursey uniform advancing on a 'client' with a very large hypodermic......:rotfl:0

Pineapple that's so cute!
Tips, this is definitely the right place to post. With the Avalanche that has hit, you probably have a lot of feelings stuffed down way Inside. This is a safe nurturing place to come. Witness nursemaggie already lending a helping hand. People here are so kind.Overprepare, then go with the flow.

T&T, I see that nursemaggie got away with it so if it's good enough for nursemaggie, it's quite good enough for me.
Oh, my flower, you have more to cope with than any one person should have to bear. You have come to absolutely the right place. We all here have problems of one sort or another and the support we give each other is unparalleled in my estimation. We may not have all the answers but we can all suggest things you could do which may or may not help.
Also, as nursemaggie said, there is usually one of us around so it doesn't matter what time you post. Whenever you feel that you can't get through another minute come on here and spill it all out. It does really help and this is a safe place, or at least as safe as we can make it.
How I wish that I had known about you before. I also live on the Island and just may have been able to help you. Nevermind, it's the future we all have to face now.
Don't be fooled by the silliness we indulge in. Some of us have a great deal of fun taking the rip out of each other but we are all painfully aware of the very real heartache that lies just under the surface.
What all this verbal diarrhoea really means is, "Welcome petal", come and be enveloped in the loving huggle that is the garden fence.
