Talking of things Scandinavian, I recently downloaded a free Kindle book on the subject of Hygge (pronounced Hoogah), the Danish concept of enjoying the simple, comforting things in life. Very interesting, fits in with the OS creed. One life - your life - live it!0

Well it is the nearest thing Lyn I don't eat anything if I am feeling down. I have never experience comfort food then. I have been asking people what they mean for years but your the first person to answer.
I suppose it could be jelly babies. That'll make Mar sit up. When I was a child and was upset my mum offered me a sweet I did not like. I don't think either of my parents ever grasped I did not like the sweets they bought.0 -
Hugs Maggie, sad you can't eat when you're upset but very, very human lovey!0

Evening all. Thanks for your good wishes, it means a lot..
Well, I have the rest of my stuff stowed away in friends garage all covered up with old curtains and sheets and suchlike to protect it from the swallows who nest there every year.
Yes, it was a horrible experience. Yes, I had a good cry on the way home. Yes, I'm feeling low now but at least I can draw a line under it all. The future looks bleak but I'm emotional, tired and shivering uncontrollably but it will all look better in the morning. I'm going to make a hot water bottle and go to bed hoping for a few hours of oblivion. I'm a great believer in the power of sleep to restore one's shattered equilibrium.
You see. Tomorrow a much more cheerful Monna will be around.

Aaw monna that must have been a very traumatic day for you. I hope you get your much deserved sleep.
My comfort meal has to be pilau rice with a poached egg on top. I can eat it any time.0 -
An awful experience that I very much wish you didn't have to do. How you've got out of bed, got ready and sat yourself in the car to start with I do not know. The experience was only ever going to be a hurtful one.
Monna? This situation will never feel this bad ever again. Don't expect sprightly humming of the joys of spring tomorrow but hope for a day of no tears. If it's a day with a few tears well it's still progress and no where near as bad as today.0 -
Oh Monna - we are all feeling for you and wishing we could take the pain and hurt away. Do hope you have a good sleep tonight, take a deep breath, tomorrow is another day and you have survived and we all know your spirit will not be broken - huge hugs xxSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0
