So Floss and Nursemaggie, how about 12pm on monday 25 april outside the front entrance of marks and sparks in Blackpool? By the front I mean the side that opens to street level rather than the side that you go up or down steps...
Of course Sortstuff I expect I will find it. Not been to Blackpool since DS was a toddler so nearly 20 years...

That sounds like a plan - M&S is on Church Street, just down the hill from the Winter Gardens :)

Floss I think softstuff is missing M&S we will be shopping in there I bet.

Years ago when my other two were children and DD was a Girl Guide I belonged a mother's group who fundraised for the Guides. This was in a village on the coast of Anglesey. At one of our meetings we were talking what we missed living in the country miles from the nearest shopping centre. One of the women said she was asked what she would change about Rhosneigr where we lived.

She said "I'd move the mountains at least 20 miles nearer and have an M&S at the end of the road."

I said "I would knock the flats down across the road from us so I did not have to go up to the second floor to see the sea."

Thanks Fuddle I watched it last week and forgot all about it. I think it is the exercise I need. I think, I will go for a walk in the park tomorrow and then it pours down.

I'll have you know MITSTMI can do quiet and dignified, when I'm asleep!
Comfort food for me is eggs, poached, on toast.

Soft boiled egg with brown bread soldiers spread with butter - made by DH as he gets them done perfectly - yum!
Off on hollibobs early tomorrow morning for 10 days - not sure if I'll be able to get a connection so I'm sure you'll all behave yourselves while I'm away ( that means you too Hester!)
Softstuff, Nursemaggie & Floss - have a lovely meet up - we need to hear all about it ;)
Have a good weekend all xx

Been trying to figure out what comfort food is for a long time. If it is the first thing you eat after being ill it is a boiled egg and soldiers any bread as long as it is fresh. It's what my mother always gave me and I still feel better for it.

I better go eat something now DS not home until 10.30pm so long wait. He will be starving after pushing trolleys around for four hours and carrying things out to peoples cars and chasing idiots who put doors and fence panels in ordinary shopping trolleys. He will have done 5 hours on Seasonal (garden centre etc).
  • Not comfort food for when you're poorly but the 'nice and comforting' food that you need on those days when the world is not a pleasant place to exist in and you feel down, disheartened and fed up. Something to make you feel warm inside and not so unhappy outside.

Today most of those large windows have the 'welcome lamp' usually with a cream or white shade, some cream silk flowers in a white vase, lots of green plants and occasionally a pretty pale coloured ornament or two along with lots of candles, in candlesticks or lanterns. I love the 'Ivy Hoops' that are fashionable at the moment so simple but so pretty.

I Googled "ivy hoops" and the results were about the Ivy League basketball teams :D Not quite what I was looking for!

Comfort food - beans on toast :)

ETA Found some pictures of ivy hoops now, very pretty.

My comfort food is beans on toast with a little grated cheese on top.

Hugs to those who are poorly and remembering those who are having a tough time.:)

  • Don't you just love Google searches and where they take you IVYLEAF?

Ivy Hoops are so pretty, it's such a simple thing but I guess in a Scandinavian winter when it's snowy and cold and dark outside for a large proportion of the day and night having something green indoors (a lot of them are silk ones too)to look at would be very welcome wouldn't it?
