FUDDLE.
I have the seeds, I have the potting compost, I have the cold frame - all 8 inches x 4 of it, I have the plastic trays, I have the insides of loo rolls. So where on earth is the enthusiasm and energy to put all these things together. Sigh!
It will be another year of runner beans maturing in October and a great display of summer flowers in November. Again.

I hope you realise now why there are so many young people who are homeless. Two of us have been living on a single persons pension for nearly two years. I could have made it easier for myself by throwing him out. I've had to pay what the law says he has to pay for out of no income. We have not got any debts. Thanks to this thread and others we have been able to live on very little.
All of DS's friend who still live at home pay nothing for their keep. He is disgusted. He has actually said if you don't pay towards your keep how do you know how to look after yourself when you leave home. He is shocked how many young men have never done any cleaning or cooking.
I am seriously worried he will never be able to save up to leave home because he cannot save up a deposit to get a flat. The funny thing is all these young people living for free at home are not saving. You need around £3000 just to move into a rented place. Then you need money for the essentials.
He sounds a very responsible young man and you have obviously done a great job. I hope everything is going to get easier for you both.Sell £1500

MrsL please stop talking about your weather!! We've had rain since the beginning of the month and for the last 3 days it's been heavy and relentless, temps stuck at 6C up here and the wee lambs aren't doing well at all.0

Aw Mar, it's really not fair is it?
My oldest friend is near Glasgow and it's not quite as cold there, but still utterly miserable. It's high time you got some proper Spring weather. If it's any consolation (which it probably isn't) the temperature here is forecast to go down again at the weekend.

It is here too Ivyleaf. DS said yesterday Bognor 20 degrees Bolton 6 yesterday. Think it may have been warmer today. There is a big difference between North and South.
Monna he has not been treated as responsible until he got this job.0 -
Mmmhmm. Your weather cut my Scottish short break even shorter.
Although just to reminisce of old times would you mind posting when you don your sandals Lyn?
Sow your absolute favs monna if you would like to. Gluttony can be a good motivator can't it? Can it? *hides0 -
Debating on the tough thread historically ends badly for the thread and the people who use it.
You're right, it's happened before

Surely will petal, although we're forecast some wind and rain for the next few days as the low pressure area that's been lurking just off Spain will be moving towards the UK and it looks more like wellingtons than sandals for a while longer! I hope that bit of info makes poor MAR feel a little better too!0

No consolation I'm afraid as temps are due to go down with us as well and yet more rain according to the forecast0
