burtha - not long now till you are out of limbo land. And if you have given yourself a black eye it will at least give them all something else to talk about! One life - your life - live it!0

Bum - just lost a post!
Monna - hope you're on the mend and getting proper rest. I always think hospital is the last place you want to be if you're poorly. Too much noise and they never let you have a good nights sleep.
Burtha - ouch! Done that and it B hurts! Hope the bruise clears soon & that the funeral is calm. DH has you, DS and DSiL for support and by Saturday it will be over and you can close that chapter. Hugs.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Goodness Monnagran, that was a bit of an unwanted adventure then! I hope you're feeling better. Did you have to hang around for hours to get your medicines, as always seems to happen at our hospital?
Fancy having to identify a picture of poo, never heard that one before!
burtha Thinking of you. So sorry to hear about your poor eye xx0 -
Monna hope you are feeling better today and managed to get a good nights sleep.
Ouch Burtha hope that heals quickly and doesn't give the devil spawn something to talk about.
I am on Prague just now visiting my sister and yesterday we went to Vienna to relive our childhood and see the band A-ha in concert. Although a long way to travel (it was a last minute thing as hadn't realised they were touring and by then too late to get anything in UK) it was def worth it. Got back to Prague at 0445 so feeling a bit tired today. Back home on Tuesday so hope you all manage to behave whilst I'm away ( you know who I'm talking about lol) xx0 -
Monna, hope you're feeling better today, and the Dr gets some meds sorted to keep the bp where it should be. No wonder it was sky high with all the upheaval lately. Take care. xxx
Burtha, I'm wincing for you. It must have hurt. Practise with the make up if you need to before the end of the week. Hope it goes ok and you can walk away from the people who are not worth worrying about.2025 Fashion on the ration

Hope you've managed to get some sleep now monna, sounds like a horrible experience. Look after yourself.
Burtha - that sounds sore, I had a car that regularly tried to cut my throat! If the door caught the wind the top was just at the height of my neck.
I've just spent the best part of the week at DS2s in The Hague, such a beautiful relaxed city. The weather was good enough to walk at the beach and sit out and have coffee. Visited a few galleries and found a wonderful painting called Panorama Mesdag, a 360 degree painting of the beach area in the 1800s. I enjoyed it so much I took a friend to view it the next day when she arrived.
Back to some house improvements today (I still have another week till term starts), stripping wallpaper in the kitchen. Realised I can't do the top part as the step ladder is at DDs. I'll just do what I can from the kitchen chair.0 -
camelot and shanks Glad you've been enjoying your travels0

Slightly worrying, we've just had another neighbour (garden almost backs onto ours)knock on the door to ask us to check the sheds etc. as their cat has gone missing. That makes 3 we know of in a couple of weeks as our actual neighbours lodger lost his cat and has not found any trace and another one on the main road through the village at a similar time went missing. What or who would be taking adult cats? we know there are foxes in the village on the allotments and in the fields around but the cat from next door was a whopping great thing and would have fought its corner very fiercely against a fox. Not nice at all!!!0

Monna - I'm equally surprised you had to go through all that questioning etc more than once. You would think in this day and age they'd all have tablet computers or the like and would just tap in your name etc and the results would come straight through from your questioning elsewhere in same hospital same day.
If I'd had to go through that and some **** had tried to tell me to get out of my bed at 11pm at night (which I suspected would be followed by wasting my time etc again with another lot of questions) the answer would have been a variant of "You and whose army are planning to try and shift me - as I'm not going anywhere. A bed is a bed...put the other person in the other bed" and that's the polite version. If I'd been woken up - they would probably have had another version:rotfl:.
I've been horrified to watch that sort of thing go on in hospitals when it came to visiting my father before now and asked him why he let them get away with it. Too polite for his own good would probably about sum it up.
I have only ever heard of one person literally refusing to budge before now from their bed in the middle of the night - and that was someone who had given birth only a few hours beforehand and they were trying to kick her out of the hospital altogether. She refused to move until it was actually time to get up for the day the following day:T0 -
BURTHA - Your friends idea of narrow boating sounds perfect to me
. Hope the funeral goes as well as can be expected.
MONNA - If you want me to pop up and kick any hospital persons in the knee (I can't reach any higher - too short) I was kept waiting for 2 hours in Saturday up their, and that was with an appointment - still should be grateful, the way the NHS is being messed with Grrrr....Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!
