Monnagran I remember you mentioning Hinge and Bracket and their roosting bar. I wonder why they enjoyed TV so much? I do love chickens, they are so full of character

Our first three Warren Browns were Margery, Geraldine and Florence and when they were replaced we had Barbara, Sylvia and Edwina!0

What is it about chickens personalities that they seem to suit 'traditional' names? I can't imagine a Sharon or TracySmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

I grew up with chickens, (no Hester, that is not the reason I ended up as I did) and my mother, who had the naming of the hens, said that when I was about 3 or 4 years old the boy who lived next door asked me what my three hens were called. "Jemima, Keziah and Keren-Happuch," I said. "They're funny names," says he.
"They are the names of Job's daughters," says I, insufferable little smarty pants that I was.
I come from a very churchy family.

When I was a child my dad kept chickens and next door kept a pig I don't remember any of them having names though. We were definitely not a churchy family, no surprises there Monna!
Today we've had sleet and biting wind, brrrr.
Tonight I think we may try the Rose and Castle for a meal, I promise I won't get drunk and dance naked on the tables!Chin up, Titus out.0 -
Don't start disappointing us now. You know perfectly well that if the mood takes you dancing on the tables, naked or not, is the least we will be expecting.
The churchy family goes some way to explain my impeccably proper behaviour and my so easily shockable nature.
