Enchanted to see a magazine entitled Practical Poultry in the paper shop.

Now have a wonderful image of the said practical poultry busily constructing their own hen house, while some of them knit blankets to line their nesting boxes :D

I once had elocution lessons for a while too. When we went to stay with my Gran some months later, she exclaimed "Don't you talk posh!" :D

    Shame it wore off.

That reminds me of the bit in Monsters Inc. when one of the characters says "Hey, could I borrow your odorant?" and chooses the "Wet Dog" one _pale_

Well I was sure I'd posted this morning, but as I'm using a tablet I probably forgot to.
Foodstuff, ( bloody tablet) Softstuff, I agree I'm to poor to be eccentric, the psychiatrist also described me as weird so I'll settle for that.
Hubby and I are on the slowest possible pub crawl. We are having a wonderful time but I am sleeping in all my clothes every night covered in an assortment of coats.
I'm not sure I'm suited to a pub crawl as, unlike my friend Monna, who I'm sure drinks like a fish, I'm practically teetotal!

It's OK Hester, its quite common to have problems with short term memory as you get older. The real problems start when when you forget to put any clothes on under your PVC raincoat.
As for you being teetotal, of course I believe you. I believe that the moon is made of green cheese as well. As for my drinking habits, allow me to assure you that apart from the very occasional small glass of red wine and a dash of Bailey's in my coffee at Christmas, strong liquor never passes my pure lips. Oh, and a refreshing glass of Cinzano and lemonade on a hot day doesn't come amiss.

Ivy: Love the idea of a Practical magazine for hens. I should have got one for Hinge and Bracket. They could have enjoyed a bit of crocheting or cross stitch while sitting on their roosting bar that I erected for them outside our sitting room window so that they could watch TV. Yes, really.

Well, I've done my talk which was well received. One comment was - how could I talk for 45 minutes without any notes. That I was making it up as I went along is our secret.

Great minds, and all that. The next two were French and Saunders, who were joined by Gert and Daisy - although you have to be very old to remember the last two.

I had a neighbour who had two gundogs called Gert and Daisy. He laughed like a drain when I popped in to warn him we were having a firework party one year. 'They be gundogs my dear, they won't mind a few bangs' he kept ferrets too, I fed them for a few weeks when he went in to hospital.
And I did once, well more than once, collect hubby from work wearing just holdup and a pvc mac. Unfortunately I gave a man in the car park an ruefully (bloody tablet) eyeful, when I opened the mac, I hadn't noticed him sat in his car.
Those were the days when I was young and daft.

I did know about that Hester. Even my overactive imagination couldn't have dreamt it up. And you might have been daft, but young?
