I don't care if it's a fig roll I munch regardless of its pedigree, THEY'RE ALL DELICIOUS!!!0

Pops, how lovely to see you back on here. :T
I regularly read your blog, and hoped you might come back here at some point.0 -

IvyLeaf: thanks for remembering my son! He's doing really well at his job. He is now permanent, full time with benefits! He worked relief until the end of February, so just when people were on holiday or sick, or they had a heavy workload. His unit is expecting a 50% retirement rate in the next two years. He seems really happy. He works mainly with women who are "as old as you Mum", erm mid50s and they seem to really like him. His supervisor has told him that by this time next year he will be trained as Charge.
So I am a very proud Mum. If he keeps the job, he can retire when he hits 56 with a full pension. He's still thinking of trying for the police in a few years and the health service will give him a leave of absence for it! So he's happy, employed, and his coworkers are trying to fix him up with daughters. lol.
The shoulder seems fine today. The worst pain comes when I roll over in bed!0 -
MRS VP I'm told that fig rolls are very efficacious in cases of ankle damage, in the olden days they were definately the next best thing to comfrey for knitting bones, I think you should be taking a large dose of fig rolls at least twice a day, go on, you know you want to!!!0

Not managed to read for the past couple of days, not sure where the time has gone to. Good to see you all, not so good that some of you are suffering at the moment, Mrs VP, I do hope your ankle heals soon, make sure you rest plenty. Same advice for you too wondercollie.
If I could have a place roughly in the middle of the fence that would be good, I think I would like a natural wood for my bit and will pass on the biscuits but if you have crisps, that would do just fine!
I'm glad you are getting on with your house renovations Possession and softstuff, I really need to get going again, the builder can't come and do the bathroom for another couple of months but I had a hot date with him on Monday at the tile shop! I have decided on the tiles and to have a wetroom shower. If I can decide on everything soon he will be able to crack on.
DD is getting very excited now, she's off to SA on Tuesday so there are clothes all over the place. Just a few more bits and bobs to get now.
Hope to keep up with you all a little better, the thread goes so quickly.0 -
Possession wrote: »Softstuff how's the renovation going? We are zooming along it feels like here, upstairs all decorated, roof fixed, electrics earthed, living room decorated, wall knocked down, wall put up. Lots more to do but it feels like we're getting somewhere. As soon as carpets are done we can build the children's beds and wardrobes and get stuff put away which will be a huge relief, I am heartily sick of moving the same boxes around.
Wow, you're really coming on great guns Possession. Flat needs another days cleaning, all the decoration bits put in and then chairs covering and cushions making. Couple more days work is all, will post pics when I'm done.
Can't wait to do it in our house, but all indications are there may not be money for a while.camelot1001 wrote: »I'm glad you are getting on with your house renovations Possession and softstuff, I really need to get going again, the builder can't come and do the bathroom for another couple of months but I had a hot date with him on Monday at the tile shop! Did you take a tile home to test in the light of the bathroom Camelot? I ask because having had the wetroom shower done at the flat, my builder took me to the tile place and made me grab 4 samples.... we took them to the flat and in the light of the bathroom not one of them looked right. So back he went for another half dozen samples and we found one. If I had gone with what I thought in the shop originally it would have been too dark.
Anyway, off for more fun and frolics.

Yes Softstuff, I did get to bring some home. Particularly pleased as the tiles I have chosen have an extra non slippy surface and don't need to be sealed either.0

Morning Fencers, I'm off to DD1 for another concert in the Cathedral, this time it's Bachs Matthew Passion which is a beautiful piece of music and I'll be back late on Monday afternoon. He Who Knows and that lurcha are all catered for here and everything is up to date so they'll be comfy while I'm away. Look after yourselves, Lyn xxx.0
