I wonder if that's what's wrong with my shoulder and arm - I cant dry my own hair or put my arms into a coat behind my back- all I got was Brufen Gel which is useless. I've just stopped using the arm instead.
I wouldn't be surprised if you'd get a lot of benefit fom some decent physio. I haven't had full mobility in about 15 years and have had a year of it being painful. 3 physio sessions later and it's mobile (fullynin all directions ) it hurts more too, but I know how my physiotherapist works, it's knocking me down to build me up better. Other physiotherapists work less painfully, but more slowly. I'd rather suffer a bit and pay less :rotfl:Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Yes I would too, I dont mind pain esp if its for a good reason. My only whine is that the hosp is 20 miles each way and the parking is a nightmare.0

I did my first physio session at our local hospital Mar, but I'm having the rest at the doctors surgery up the road (not even my doctors). It might be worth making enquiries with your GP. I've always found that they physiotherapists are much more on the ball when it comes to actual diagnosis too - like the time my GP said hypermobility didn't exist, Every physio I've seen since said it surely does and I have it. When I'm having a really bad time with my back (every 2-3 years usually) I don't even ask for painkillers, I ask for a physio referral. I've not been refused yet.0

Thanks CRANKY40 My DS has just been diagnosed with hypermobility he is waiting for for physio. Pleased to know it helps.
Do go and find out Mar. I went to another GP practice for physio a few years ago. Was a private physio but NHS paid. I also went to my local cottage hospital the following year rather than the district hospital 20 miles away. That was when we were in West Sussex.0 -
I havent got another practice any nearer though, ours is 11 miles away and the next nearest is 15. But if it gets bad I will have to

Happy Easter to everyone celebrating xx0

Ditto - as in Happy Easter to those celebrating.
Cue to gearing myself up to ringing my mother to see why she's not sent me an Easter card this year (as she's someone that does send them and I expect cards for that each year from her and Best Friend - because thats what they do....) - and suspecting its because she just doesnt feel up to sending them to anyone:(.
Apart from that - like Bank Holidays for single people generally - it's been a bit of a catch-up time for those tasks I really/really don't want to do (but know I should....:rotfl:).
Add a little side trek off to check out website entries for my local Council (ie because they've been busily protesting they don't have enough money for necessities). Cue for studying their minutes of meetings and accounts and thinking "You wotnames - yes you do. I can see just what luxuries and 'legal requirements' (ie not necessities then - except to prevent A.N. Other possibly having a go at them:cool:) you've been spending money on:cool:. That being - obviously there is money for necessities - if luxuries and "legal requirements" are having money allocated to them.
Cue for me now debating with myself again whether I should stand for local Council or no.....as at least my priorities are firmly set on necessities first, then "legal requirements - or Someone Somewhere might create a problem that doesn't really exist", then yer luxuries that dont have a "gotta do it legally or someone might scream" label on them.
Sometimes it's a very instructive exercise to do things like that - as I've counted thousands of £s wasted money there:rotfl:. I wasnt keen on not getting "value for money" in the first place - and then I found MSE......
How can you tell that retirement is feeling like a "bit of a drag" at the moment and I'm wondering if I should find a bit of "sense of purpose" again LOL? I'm not a lot of good at just "doing what I personally want to"....0 -
Happy Easter to any celebrating. Though we're not religious here, we're certainly making the most of the holiday weekend!Softstuff- Officially better than 0070
