Thank you nursemaggie
I went to see her this afternoon and she was so much better than last night! Apparently it's her appendix, which had got infected and then the infection spread, but the anti-b's are working wonders. She'll be on them for a couple of weeks but of course will have tablets instead once she goes home. They will put her on the waiting list, to have her appendix out in a few months' time.

Hi.
I've just got back from my few days in civilisation on the mainland.
Had a lovely time catching up with old friends. Much, much, much chatting went on, much food was eaten, wine drunk and lots of laughter. I don't think there is anything more precious than old friends and I am blessed with many of them.
Hester: I had a friend whose husband decorated like that. After months of nagging he would decide to paint walls an hour before they had a party or guests arriving. He also did the 'painting round furniture, pictures and ornaments' thing. His wife used to tell the children to keep moving or their silhouette would be for ever displayed on the walls.
I feel absolutely exhausted. This doing nothing thing really knocks the stuffing out of you. It's an early night for me and hopefully I will be more compus mentis in the morning.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Thanks folks, I'll be very relieved when she lets me know she's home (she insisted she wanted to come by taxi so that she wouldn't feel she was keeping anyone waiting while she was hanging around to collect her meds etc, despite our saying to ring us when she was ready to leave and we'd come then and she could wait in the Reception area in the meantime!)
Glad you had such a lovely time monnagran :T0 -
I also once moved into a house where the lounge, hall, landing, kitchen, dining room and garden room were all peach, the 6 bedrooms, playroom, study and both bathrooms were all pink. It was like living in one of Barbara Cartland's dresses and not at all practical with 4 children.
Mu current house is much smaller thankfully but every room was painted cream and blue & the previous owner made an official complaint to his solicitor when he realised we'd redecorated.Chin up, Titus out.0 -
Re current House Hester Ther's now so queer as folks.0

Hi there wondercollie! We've missed you! How've you been?
It's been a ver rough 16 months. My frozen shoulder has finally defrosted. Turns out, I was right and a big part of it is mt rotator cuff. Not repairable yet. Had to keep working as I was embed not sick enough for a note despite being unable to lift my left arm to shoulder height and having numbness and intermittent tingling. Turns out there is nerve compression.
Husbands on the mend. He wound up in hospital for two weeks on holiday and we are still dealing with the nightmare of the insurance company. They owe me over $15000.
The Collie just had his tenth birthday and passed his we'll dog physical with flying colours.
Haven't posted because I was feeling too sorry for myself and sometimes you just need to lurk and lick your wounds0 -
My typing on an iPad sucks. Shakes fist at auto word thingie0

You have my sympathies WCollie - my rotator cuff took about 2 years before it was back to normal. Very painful! Do hope you get DH's insurance sorted - they're always very quick to take the money.
We're all learning autoword speak on here due to Monna's tuition. :rotfl:Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0
