It's been a ver rough 16 months. My frozen shoulder has finally defrosted. Turns out, I was right and a big part of it is mt rotator cuff. Not repairable yet. Had to keep working as I was embed not sick enough for a note despite being unable to lift my left arm to shoulder height and having numbness and intermittent tingling. Turns out there is nerve compression.

Husbands on the mend. He wound up in hospital for two weeks on holiday and we are still dealing with the nightmare of the insurance company. They owe me over $15000.

The Collie just had his tenth birthday and passed his we'll dog physical with flying colours.

Haven't posted because I was feeling too sorry for myself and sometimes you just need to lurk and lick your wounds

Oh, you do indeed :( Sorry you've been having such a rough time. I hope your shoulder can be repaired soon, and that the insurance company get a move on and give you your money. So glad he's on the mend and that at least the collie is okay! Sending gentle (((HUGS))).

DD1 is back at home now, thank goodness. She had to wait around for a few hours at the hospital pharmacy for the meds she needed to take home! I hope she went for a cup of tea at some point. Then she rang for a cab, having refused the offer of a lift from us, and there was 45 minutes' wait, so she came home on the bus!

the previous owner made an official complaint to his solicitor when he realised we'd redecorated.

I think I would have paid to see the solicitors face.

I hope things improve for you and your husband soon Wondecollie.

I had my third shoulder physio session yesterday and have progressed onto the basic exercises (otherwise known as the Marquess de Sades warm up session)

Ivy: I do hope that your DD is feeling a lot better now. She is obviously a very independent and determined girl and everything is better when you are home.

WCollie: Commiserations on the frozen shoulder. I've had two, one on each side though mercifully not at the same time. The pain when your arm gets inadvertently wrenched backwards is like nothing I've ever experienced and never wish to again. Two particular occasions stick in my mind, one when I was going through a heavy swing door and once when some hot fat spat at me when I was frying something - frying wasn't a cardinal sin in those days. Time has healed the wound but will never entirely efface the scar.
Oh, my dear, how I agree with you about tabletspeak. I don't know which evil little gremlin lives in mine but he (bound to be a he) sure has never passed his English GEE. There! See what I mean?
Poor FUDDLE never knows her own name as it usually emerges as muddle, cuddle or fiddle.

Well, my mini holiday hasn't seemed to have done me much good as I have floated around today accomplishing sweet nothing. However, I am sure that things will be different when I get to the procrastinator's best labour saving device -- TOMORROW.

  • Commiserations to those with poorly shoulders - and the thought a dance teacher of mine was told to just about "write off" one of her shoulders courtesy of an accident to it and that she wouldn't be getting much use from it in the future.

She's as stubborn as I am at not taking "on board" any such negative verdicts about her health and she fought and fought (in her case - some carefully worked-out exercising) and I wouldn't know there's anything wrong with it these days. She says she has got back 99% of the motion in it and I cant detect any sign of her having any pain from it.

So - reassurance the medics. can be wrong and fingers crossed okay for the shoulder sufferers.

Monnagran I think sometimes we just need to float around accomplishing sweet nothing, especially after a few days of being very sociable, if you know what I mean - it is quite tiring being sociable.
    I love your signature :)

softstuff Good luck with the physio :) My OH is supposed to do physio every day, and has even recently bought an exercise mat, but hasn't done any of the exercises for several years because it just hurts too much!

Thanks Ivyleaf, and sorry to hear that about your OH. My exercises aren't supposed to be that painful, the weekly visit is much worse. Today has not been a walk in the park pain wise though. I can raise my arm up though, and get it up behind my back too, which I haven't been able to do in years :T

Yup, being able to scratch your own bottom is a fantastic feeling, as is being able to put your hair in a ponytail

If my hair ever grows long enough, I'm sure I'll enjoy the ponytail too. It's the back scratching that's a joy. Not having to give directions to the itch to hubby!

After an 11 month wait, we're having a wall knocked out next week. My friend the builder has an unexpected 3 days free and says he can do it and make it good in that time. He has also told us he's free in July for the rest. Wish me luck! If all goes to plan at the end of next week we'll have a pretty open plan living area.

I wonder if that's what's wrong with my shoulder and arm - I cant dry my own hair or put my arms into a coat behind my back- all I got was Brufen Gel which is useless. I've just stopped using the arm instead.
