Just remembered something I wanted to tell you all. In a local garden centre cafe there is a sign on the wall that says,
"The bigger you are the harder you are to kidnap! Stay safe, eat cake."

My gp probably won't agree, but it makes me smile each time I see it.

Morning All - such a lot of lurgies going round :( do hope they clear up soon. Fuddle I used to work with a guy who swore by garlic and beetroot sandwiches to ward off bugs. It worked as everyone kept their distance lol!
Had a lovely day yesterday with DH and his trike pals. Met up about 10.30 and drove to a neighbouring village for a FHB & then about a 50 mile circular route with a couple of coffee stops. The countryside looked absolutely stunning & so nice to be outside in the fresh air all day. We were still stuffed from the breakfast when we got home so Sunday dinner was Tuna sarnies!! Need to take inventory today for shopping and give the downstairs a good clean and empty the washing basket.
Have a good day all x
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

So sorry for everyone suffering the lurgies. Double, treble, quadruple sorry for cuddle's DH. Actually I rather like 'cuddle', I think I'll rename you.

Thanks with the tip about mustard seed Polly. Unfortunately we don't have a H*m*b*s* on the Island either. Sigh. What it is to live in the back of beyond.

MrsCD: I did read somewhere that one of the advantages of old age was that kidnappers weren't very interested in you. Well, being in my lavish ( latish, but I prefer tablet's interpretation) seventies and my body showing evidence of all too much cake eating I think I am fairly secure. Anyway, I don't know what ransom they could reasonably expect.
Of course!! They've heard about my jar of 20ps. It's the hot topic of conversation in the underworld.

It's a housework day for me today, or in my case a roomwork day. The endless struggle to fit a quart into a pint pot.
Then, when the day has aired and is a bit warmer I will take a walk along the beach in the sunshine and up into the village to do some shopping The church that I belonged to when we were here before have a 'Soup and Sweet' day on Wednesday and have asked me if I would make two of the things that I traditionally made for them. I hope that my DS will be free to take me or else I'll have to transport a vat of leek and potato soup and a large bread and butter pudding on two buses.

Monna if they want your contributions then they should be polite enough to offer to collect.

To be fair Floss, the person who asked me did offer but she is also the person organising the event and not a young healthy person at that. She is also bringingme home afterwards so i said I'd get myself there.
Like most churches these days the folk who support and run things are all getting fewer and older so we all try to do our bit to make it easier for the others.

Hope you enjoy your morning at the church, Monnagran. It's good to see that you are getting out and about, and being involved, just like you've always done. :T

I'll keep your jar of 20pc's secret, if you'll keep my change purse quiet.. I stash my change out of my purse for DD for car parking.
