Good news Softstuff, such a relief. I hope she sorts you out soon.
I saw a TV programme a couple of months ago about diets and one of them was turmeric, lemon juice and water (I think), seems to be a wonder spice!0 -
Great news that it's fixable Softstuff - I've been having traction with my physio to help stretch my neck and shoulder muscles out. Been having problems since a car accident 11 years ago. I had intensive physio afterwards but over time my body has just resorted to "lets just cramp up and be stupidly sore". The relief I get after the traction is just immense."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0

kittie you have just reminded me that turmeric paste can be used on simple wounds and skin blemishes, as well as internally. It is supposed to be as good as taking anti inflammatory painkillers, if taken regularly, handy to know if you are worried about the amount of painkillers you are taking.
Maybe incorporating it into everyday eating can contribute to health improvement.
A bit of useless information for you.......the Spring Equinox is usually around March 21st, when day and night are of equal length. That obviously must vary between different parts of the country, because, according to BBC Weather, in my neck of the woods the magic date is March 17th. On that day the sun rises at 0615 and sets at 1815.One life - your life - live it!0 -

15 years ago, I was doing a lot of heavy lifting as was looking after horses plus large garden and my back felt as though it was contracting with all the weight I was carrying, even if in heavy wheelbarrows. I saw a teeter inverter on a shopping channel and bought one, results were instant and in that first session I stretched so that my hands went lower and lower onto the floor, only took a very few minutes. Since then it was a lifesaver for me and dh and when we moved house, the inverter moved with us. At first it was on the landing as we didn`t have a spare bedroom
I gave it to dd last year as she is in a job that can lead to backache and I bought a new one, which was upgraded so is better for me. I still use it but now tether the inverter so it does not go back more than 60 degrees. It takes a couple of minutes for me to stretch and wiggle about, so my vertebrae open up. It resolves any backache issue for me in that one session. This inverter takes quite some space but has its own bedroom, if someone comes to stay then I flatten it and move it into an alcove, where it is secured with bungee ropes. This inverter of mine is one of my `must haves` for me anyway and now for my dd and her husband
I am having a kitchen session this morning, first preparing old fashioned yeasted hot cross buns, which takes about 4 hours in total, I use a sponge and am waiting for it to rise. Haven`t made any for over a year and am making lots for my freezer. Nuts and sunflower seeds are soaking for granola and will dehydrate overnight, making granola tomorrow and will freeze or vacuum in packets to make it last longer. Sourdough starter is also on the go and am training it for wholewheat flour, should be lively enough by tomorrow
rice/lentil/turmeric breakfast turned out very well in the rice cooker, no effort. I just need to add more water into the mix. I am all for an easy breakfast and yes I too an finding that turmeric has a comforting taste. In future I`ll be eating the granola/berries/yoghurt on 3 mornings or as my teatime meal and then vary between the rice mix and steelcut oatmeal for breakfast
Lovely sunny day here, birds twittering, feels good0 -
Softstuff What brilliant news, i'm so chuffed for you :j
nursemaggie Thank you for your kind advice - I am going to get some almonds next time we go shopping and will try soaking them before eating to see if my tummy likes them better that way0 -
Many thanks re turmeric. There are great shops in Glasgow that I can buy this from. I read too regarding the black pepper addition. I'm thinking Dr Andrew Weil? Good news Softstuff. Hopefully she can give you maintenance exercises too.0

Just having a quick browse through with a cuppa .
Softstuff Good news , I hope things continue to improve .
Thanks for all the posts re turmeric . Some really interesting information to ponder .
Kittie I recall you posting some time ago on your thread about all the things you cooked in your rice cooker . Any hint to the model you have ? it sounded quite versatile .
Take care all .

There but for fortune go you and I.0 -
So if the turmeric works, we'll all have yellow teeth, but we'll be quite supple
Juliettet, I guesstimate that 3 months of physio will fix the issue along with my entire posture, but I have to see my physio every couple of months anyway for my leg so she'll be on my case if I don't do her exercises.
Glad you get relief from something Pooky. My shoulder stems from a dislocation 15 years ago and that was likely caused bh a couple of crashes. I like the sound of Kitties inverter, but know my stomach couldn't deal.
Anyone fancy a Blackpool meet up on Monday 25th April? I picked the day at random out of my spare ones.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
25th April sounds good to me softstuff. Glad your physio is doing you good.0
