So glad the visit went well Fuddle - I'm sure you did your swan impression. Sailing smoothly on the surface and paddling like hell!!

    Morning all.

Yes, this is my half-time break from sleeping.Am now waiting for the oranges to arrive, or is it lemons? Not being a sporty type I wouldn't know. But I am confident that one of these nights a nice young manager-man will arrive to give me a pep talk and a game plan.

Soiled goods Hester? Tut tut! I'm not sure that I can possibly share the primeministership with soiled goods. You lucky thing. A very good friend of mine had to flee to her brother abroad somewhere because the irate wife of the chap she was having an affair with was threatening to sue her for enticement. Mind you this was in the fifties. Imagine that happening today!

Can you tell that I have nothing much to say? Apart from the wind gusting a bit nothing much is happening chez moi. I will spare you all further meanderings and get back to my book.

I'm off the thread for 5 minutes and you're all wearing lavender mini skirts and talking dirty.

Can't believe you didn't wait for me :D

My MIL was pretty miffed when my hubby started dating me. I was an uncouth Pom, still technically married and rather a bit older. Think she thought I'd corrupt him. Tomorrow is our 9th wedding anniversary (and my birthday ) and we'll have been together 12 years. And we corrupt each other regularly :rotfl: MIL apologized some time ago and we get along very well now.

Tomorrow I have a job interview. Bit out of the blue, dropped in my resume only yesterday. Would be a cracking little job a few days a week, just what I need. Very local too. It'd be a good birthday gift.

Fuddle, I fancy making crumpets, what recipe do you use and is it hard? Lost a bit of my baking mojo in the heat here.

Well done fuddle/cuddle/fiddle , or whatever monniker tablet chooses for today. Doing all that cooking and entertaining the troops as well is no mean feat. SUPERWOMAN.

Soft stuff. I don't know where we are time wise, but if your tomorrow is our today Congratulations on your wedding anniversary, (and yah boo sucks to the inlaws), Happy Birthday, and Good Luck with the interview. With all that happening in one day you're almost sure to get the job. Fingers crossed.
BTW you don't eat crumpets in a heat wave. You eat crumpets on a cold, dark, winter afternoon with the snow falling softly outside. And they must be toasted by you , sitting cosily by an open fire holding a toasting fork and dripping with butter - the crumpets, not you.. or so I understand.

Now I will drink my mug of industrial strength coffee and wake up my brain.

Thanks Monnagran, my tomorrow will be your tonight. And if I waited for a chilly afternoon to eat crumpets (or to cover myself in butter) I'd be waiting a long time over here. And besides hubby is lactose intolerant :p

  • Well I went to ASDA this morning to see if there were WONKY VEG BOXES and as you all suspected there were 20 ONLY on Saturday and they sold very fast. The man I spoke to on the veg section had no knowledge of any more coming in and thought that the 20 might be all there were going to be which is ridiculous given now hard the store was pushing what seemed such a sensible idea. If they want me to shop in their store they have to have what I want to buy in stock don't they? I went to Lidl instead which is just round the corner and got what I wanted there for a very good price. Daft way to do business if you ask me!!!

So - looks like everyone on this thread was perfectly realistic about the veg boxes - what a shame it seems to have been mismanaged ;) (not that they did it on purpose I'm sure. although whats the saying? any publicity is good publicity??)

Oh they definitely did it on purpose. They are still trying to prove they are trying to sell them and they will say only 20 sold per store.

They are not different from any of the others they will persist in saying it is the customers. Well we are on to them. I would not say it was mismanaged it was to deliberately blame us.
