Thanks fuddle, silvasava. As I speak the wind is screaming off the sea and hurling itself in fury against my bedroom Windows. I am tucked up snuggly in bed and smuggly thinking, "come on then, do your worst". My heart goes out to those poor unfortunate who are actually out there ON the sea.
burtha: Oh yes. I think it will come out in cribs and crabs (try substituting 'd' for 'c' ). Those in the know won't be able to help themselves letting things slip.
Talking of karma, I read a lovely bit today. 'The gentleman who stole the parking space that I was waiting to get into and ,when I protested, told me to "F........ off," turned up later for his interview................... with me.'
Don't you just love it?

Oh my goodness. The wind is not only trying to take my Windows out it is now trying to rip the roof off. The rain is concentrating on the Windows. I've not heard wind noise like that since the hurricane of '87. I have even put my dressing gown on and put shoes ready in case I have to make a hurried edit. Don't think it will come to that but the noise when a gust comes is truly terrifying.

May have a long way to travel but hey , why not ....£223/ £250 GC0 -
Gee. Thanks a lot birth a. I've just looked on the shtf thread and people there are assembling all their wind up gear. Now I have a wind1up torch, radio and a few other bits. I may go and look them out.
The wind is coming from the south-west. Guess what. One of my Windows faces south and the other faces west and they are both about 100 metres from the sea.
I don't think much sleep is on the agenda.

I hope that it subsides, sleep happens and you wake up to better weather and no damage.0 -
Hope you have managed to get some sleep and everything is ok , Monna x£223/ £250 GC0

Thank you both, we're still here and the power is still on. I made a cup of hot chocolate at about 1.00am and must have drifted off to sleep soon after drinking it. The wind now seems to have subsided considerably so all is well atm.
I hope for a bit more sleep again now. I have a diabolical sudoku on the go and a time spent tussling with that should send me off again.
How nice it is to converse with friends at such unlockable hours. SIGH! That should have been u n s o c I a b l e hours.
Sudoku, here I come.

Don't you love predictive texting? I had a text last night from DD1 to say that Pushycat was laying in wait on the top of the stairs hiding under 'sheet music' and jumping out at her feet every time she passed him, she'd just hung the laundry over the stair rail to dry so it should have been just sheet. The image I got of a very large cat under a small piece of paper 'hiding' is just too ridiculous. Made me giggle!!!0

Monna, wind is the only thing that scares me. Up here at 1000ft on a south facing slope we get a hell of a lot of it. And the noise is seriously scary. I'm glad your storm has passed0
