Love and Hugs Monna & thanks to Fuddle and Lillibet for putting in to words how we all feel about you.
It's really lovely how when when of us is hurting how we all close ranks in support - positive vibes do travel and this is such a caring thread.

You tell him Monnagran! Despise things that pop up without invitation. .. er... on the Internet that is :D I too had wondered what happened, but figured you'd tell us if you wanted to.

Caterina, there's a reason besides it repeating that we haven't had mackerel in a while, we're also open plan and the smell  doesn't help that I can't stand smelly candles, air fresheners or the like.

Am going sink hunting today (with a shotgun, a deerstalker hat and a trusty hunting dog :p )

Hugs Monna, you have the love and concern of all of us who have 'met'you, so with that support you will soon see a new, exciting path to follow...in the meantime, enjoy the 3 year old.

Mackerel is probably the favourite fish of most of this family, it must be very fresh....I normally cook it in the oven, skinside down, salt, pepper and chopped herb of whatever is most plentiful. I line the tray with greaseproof or baking paper and cook at160c......dont seem to have any trouble with smell maybe I have become immune wehave it so often!

Morning all. I'm only going to write short messages from now on. Yesterday, Martin did for one post and the next one disappeared when I clicked "post quick reply'. The little circle whizzed round for ages and then the screen went blank and a message came up, "this web page is unavailable." *******!
So from now on it will be terse and to the point. And the pigs are landing at Gatwick.

I can hear the wind roaring a bit, or it might be a rough sea - they sound the same. I've been up, made my coffee and come back to bed so intend to snuggle down with my book for a while.

Oh, the joys of being retired!

Ah. It's Saturday anyway, silly me. See you later.

money!! Suddenly my income, last feb, was halved, just like that, at a stroke. It went up a bit after a couple of months but was still drastically reduced. Many years ago I used m/s money, I think I stopped around 2008, when I was on an even keel. A very kind person on another thread said how he used m/s money and my mind went `bingo`. I found my old disc and put it on my computer, money is in m/s works. I made sure that nothing linked electronically to my actual bank accounts as I always liked to input details manually

All my incomings and outgoings are on there now, car tax, house insurance, the lot. I have just spent 10 minutes entering deposits and bills up to the end of march and I can see at a glance if I have enough to pay bills and if too much then it goes into a savings account. I run two current accounts with a facility to switch money back and forth. One is the active account for everything, the other is my safety net account, which holds enough to act as a buffer

You can still get these discs on ebay and mine is, I think, 2005. The disc is worth every penny as far as I am concerned. Just passing it on, it was and is a lifesaver
  • Monna, hugs to you and enjoy your snuggle in bed. I am sorry you lost the posts yesterday, but I still love to read your comments. You always used to make me laugh and your humour is coming through again now. I am so glad you found the strength to volunteer, and I think once you start the healing will really begin. You are a lovely lady and you have so many people willing you to recover.

It has rained most of the night here and is still raining. We have no plans to go out, the shopping was done yesterday, so think we will hunker down and wait it out. As Monna says, when you are retired you don't actually have to do anything if you don't want to.

Have a good day all and stay safe
