Hi ZIPPY we only borrow Cookie for walkies but she is such a nice girl, she's uber friendly with people and dogs and it's a real pleasure to have her in our lives since we lost our boy back in the summer. It really helps fill the gap!

I had lurked for more than 12 months before I plucked up courage to join the forums.

I thought of several names, all of which had been taken, then whilst I was thinking I looked up at the fireplace and my candles were twinkling away there, and I thought, that's it.

I know, over the years, many have explained how they chose their username, but I am still enthralled by some and really interested how it came about.

On another note, will the real Mardather stand up and admit she loves jelly babies.:):)

I also had difficulty in finding a username which hadn't been taken, In the end I chose the name of a several times great aunt-I was looking up my family tree at the time

My username was about six years in the making. One forum suggested blending a pets name and a hobby. I had cross for crosswords and tommy a guinea pig we had at the time.

I did not get on very well on this forum they all misconstrued everything I said. Then they started calling me names and finally someone said "I wonder what he is cross about?" so I got rid of that.

I used maggie for a while spelling it different ways then decided to put nurse on the front because I used to be a nurse. It's very difficult thinking what to have. There is one username on here. Everyone knows and likes her, it will probably surprise you all to know there is another Jackie O. She is American and nearly half the age of our Jackie O.

Fuddle: sadly I don't know Hester personally (although I think I'd like to) but only through the various threads on this forum.
I admire anyone who goes to pick up their OH wearing only a Mac and high heeled shoes.
