The Garden Fence - help and support in tough times

We made the difficult decision last night that our puppy will be returned from the trainer to our neighbours. He has long term needs that need an experienced owner, which we aren't. The trainer says we may have been able to handle him, but he's proving a challenge even to her. The cute was very deceiving, his personality is more what you would look for and expect from a German Shepherd.
So my heart is in tiny pieces, I can't stop crying and though we've been assured it isn't us,....Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Fuddle - If you have any type of hospital or clinic letter your NHS number should be on there . I have a file of medical stuff which is very useful . I also always wrote everyones nhs numbers in the back of my diary each year and later their national insurance numbers as they grew up . It's surprising how often these are asked for . You must be exhausted , it's annoying when you do your bit and the powers that be don't do theirs .

Softstuff - so sorry that your puppy wasn't right for you & DH. I think you both did your utmost best for him and certainly commend you for making a very difficult decision. One of my nieces works for an animal rescue and she says sometimes animals that are very difficult and demanding is due to the way they have been bred.
Hugs to you bothSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
So sorry Softstuff. You have, however, proved yourselves to be responsible dog owners by making the tough decision. So at some point maybe you will feel able to offer a home to another dog who needs the love and care that you can offer.0

Little pup sounds like he was hurting and even though it's so very sad for you it will be much better for the wee thing to get the help needed. I wish for the pain to subside for you soon to make way for the happy memories softstuff. Animals get right into our hearts eh?
The very next thing that comes with our NHS number on I will be making a note I can assure that. The annoying thing is one surgery is at least breaking the law, if not both. It should not be a problem at all according to NHS helpline.0 -
ivyleaf your right, they will say nothing an quietly put the money back in my account. Benefits will do the same too as they suspended my account due to conflicting information at the beginning of December.
Oh softstuff a great big hug for you and OH. You will get over it and be able to look forward to having another one.
fuddle I am annoyed for you too why does everyone have to make moving so difficult? I hope you have had no problems with schools.0 -
Massive hugs SOFTSTUFF, was your neighbour the breeder? You have really tried your best for him, but he wasn't the right pup for you
Don't give up on the idea of getting a dog though hun, he sounds like an exception to me, and i'm an experienced dog owner of various breeds, currently staffies who are little angels x

Fuddle , can you request a copy of your medication to by sent to you , normally a copy can be found on the side bit that you tear off a prescription , if you know what I mean ...It will have on you nhs number ... otherwise sure that all of the UK is now electronic in sending prescriptions , so you could order ?? Paracetamol ??for everyone in the family ,from your old doctors ....go I to your pharmacy up here and ask them to sign you on electronically so they receive your prescriptions , will have to give them old details .... then when prescription comes though your sorted ...as nhs number on them .... does that make any sense if not pm me ....£223/ £250 GC0

Candygirl, my neighbour wasn't the breeder, this pup had been bought by and lived briefly with an elderly lady, it was my neighbour who brought him to me with the proviso we'd return him to her if anything happened.
The trainer keeps saying it isn't our faults, just that he is unusual in behaviour and very demanding.
In the meantime my mind is distracted, my best friends brother was found dead last night, we're taking care of her daughter (at least distracting her with wall painting ).
2016 sucks so far.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070
