Hopefully I'll have more luck. It is annoying as I'm a proficient crocheter, self taught from you tube but knitting is my nemesis! Worth a try. Thanks for the suggestion0

MrsL, I'd love to hear ships sirens -that sounds lovely.0

I have to say that would be last on my list of things to hear early in the morning .

Well our drive through the Scottish Borders was interesting...lovely picturesque snow covered hills, then snow at the roadside, gritters with snow plough on, sleet and finally snow at Peebles. Hope tomorrow's weather is kind to Fife for FiL's funeral.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Will be thinking of you tomorrow Floss ((HUGS))
fuddle I believe a lot of people who can do crochet find knitting hard to master, and vice versa. I wonder why? Good luck with itI used to do quite a lot of knitting for my children when they were small (my biggest triumph was a jumper for DS with a penguin on the front, when he was six
) but I stopped when it started making my fingers hurt because of the way I held the yarn and needles - I just couldn't seem to do it the "right" way!
pollyanna Lovely to see you on the thread
Monnagran hope you enjoyed cooking and eating your proper Sunday roast. Candle lit again this morning xx
Mrs LW :rotfl: at the Disney cruise ship - just what you want to start your day - not! I must tell my brother - he and SIL are going on a cruise to the Baltic capitals in July and he really doesn't want to go, so I shall tell him he's had a narrow escape!0 -
Dear Fuddle, how I wish I could pop up there and direct your needles. Or neegles as Mia calls them. There is no substitute for a Grandma who teaches you to knit when you are 6 and you quickly get proficient at knitting dish cloths. I bet you've never seen a hand knitted dish cloth before but they are very forgiving to the amateur knitter.
Mrs LW: we don't hear much of the sirens but we do hear foghorns in the........er......fog.
It was one of the background sounds to my childhood so very nostalgic for me.
This morning I went for a walk along the beach during the spell of sunshine. It was glorious. I was all alone apart from one dog walker in the distance and a very foolhardy windsurfer. I am so blessed to be living here.
Floss: all the best for your FIL's funeral. I hope you don"t get torrential rain. Will be thinking of you.
Thank you Ivyleaf.
Pollyanna: you fit in just fine. They are all as mad as a box of frogs here but give them a problem, a crisis or a sadness and they will fight your corner or surround you in a snuggly blanket of love. They are all amazing.
Nursemaggie: I hope you are recovering a bit now and feeling a bit more at home. Don't try to do too much too soon. Pace yourself and be kind to yourself. That is an order.
Oh my. The rain has just started hammering down again. I do hope it is not going to be another night like last night.

Thanks monnagran I have no choice but to take my time I am exhausted and so is DS with his injuries to add to it. Apart from wall plates, no where to put them, and my collection of crystal and other glassware we have only the books left.
I need to cut down on my books. Many of them I thought I would read again but I have not in nearly 30 years. As they are mostly Christian books I will gradually take them to a local church's book shop.
We have had a fairly dry day but very cold. I am sleeping well in this flat, one good sign. It is taking me over 2 hours to cook a meal as I am looking for everything including the cooker, fridge freezer and sink. Good job I don't have far to walk it would take me even longer.0 -
It's really good to hear you're sleeping well nursemaggie
I hope DS is recovering
