Fantastic news nursemaggie, I wish you every happiness in your new home.
Take it nice and easy, let DS do most of the work, you can be foreman! Just think, you will be pretty much settled in by Christmas.

Was it on this thread we were talkiing about the Ben Fogle ch 5 series of living in the wild? I just watched that shepherdess episode and the Yorkshire dales (or was it moors?) look very like here, just a bit flatter. It looked very like home. Nice programme.

Yea he's here lol. Further down in Hawick the Mountain Rescue people were helping evacuate people in the night and more are to get out today.
One thing that I don't need to worry about is flooding - just keeping the roof on :)

My friend just north of Glasgow says roads and pavements in her town are flooded that she's never seen flooded before. She's lived there about 30 years

Glad you're up a hill mardatha!

Just watching the flooding on the news, Hawick looks awful along with Keswick, hope everyone is safe, warm and dry.

It's been raining heavily here for days now but I live far enough up a hill from the river, just wondering how the folk at the bottom are, the river feeds from Loch Lomond so will be fierce.
