We have been eating the cake (stuck it together with icing), but haven't had the wine. Things went wrong right up untilthe end of the day yesterday, so I think I came to terms with it.

I hope you get your fence back up Jazee.

Ivyleaf, hubby had a terrible scalp (and the rest of his skin), he went through all the usual suspects at the doctors, then a dermatologist put him on stieprox shampoo, but leaving it in for a couple of minutes. It reduced the problem, but it wasn't 100% and it was pretty harsh stuff, left him red and sore. Anyway, they discontinued that over here and we went on the hunt for something else. Someone suggested Moogoo shampoo and also the scalp cream. It's very gentle and natural, to be honest I thought I'd be using their return facility! But it's worked. We switched to their products for his whole body and he's never been clearer, he does have the odd flare up, but it takes it down in a couple of days. Worth a go if you can get a bit. Wish I was nearer, I'd bring you some and come and do your hair, I have no fear of dodgy looking scalps!

Thank you Softstuff - would you believe, MooGoo is the gentle shampoo I referred to in my previous post! Amazing stuff, certainly better than anything else I've tried. I first came across it by chance in a pharmacy in Cornwall; the owner said he had an Aussie customer who used to get her mother to post it to her, then she found it had become available over here so she asked him to stock it. The next batch I bought online, but now a pharmacy not far from us stocks it :j
I'd been having trouble even so, just because my hair had got quite long (couldn't afford to get it cut) and I was having problems with my arm muscles. Had it cut now though, so it should be easier next time.

ETA Silvasava How frustrating about the lights! We now have a small "pre-decorated" tree - a bit of a shame in a way, but it was becoming such a struggle to decorate it that I started dreading it every year. I can enjoy it now - the tree is small enough to sit on the coffee table, has little gold balls and gold poinsettias on it, and I add a set of small baubles. Room for the Nativity scene to go beside it, which then looks as if the owners of the Stable are in urgent need of a tree surgeon :D

Great news nursemaggie, I hope it's what you are looking for.
Glad you are feeling better mardatha, glad it's not me, I dislike porridge!
Aah silva, your post reminded me of my dad - he used to fight with the lights every year!

Been for another walk this evening, I decided that I had to make the most of the weather. It's good being nosey, I can see into folks houses! Quite a few have christmas trees up, one has lights outside that you must be able to see from space!
  • Nursemaggie I am so pleased for you, I hope you like the flat

Good news, nursemaggie. You mentioned the flat was quite large, which indicates the rooms should be a decent size, and you've said it's close to everything you need, so it would have to be something pretty major for you to turn it down. Fingers, toes and everything else crossed!

Crossing fingers and toes for you that the flat is suitable.

EA is phoning me tomorrow to discuss the offer I made for the chalet bungalow which vendors rejected. Torn between liking the place but knowing how much modernization it needs and not wanting to pay so much way over the odds.

Elona - hopefully you can agree a compromise on the price, but you need to have a figure in mind as the maximum you are prepared to pay. No property will ever tick all the boxes, but if you like it then that's a good start.

Good luck elona We once had a chalet bungalow that we could have shut the upstairs off would have made a forever house but circumstances meant we had to move.

I keep trying to tell DS we can't expect the perfect property but he takes no notice. He would not like it if we ended up in a rough area

Mardatha, the mood I was in if there had been brandy in the house I would have chucked the cake and drunk it!

Do you use the scalp cream as well as the shampoo? That was the real key for hubby, cleared him right up, the two together. Don't know if you have any issues elsewhere on but the eczema cream worked wonders on him elsewhere too. Marvellous stuff. If you had bother getting it, I could send you some. You put it in at night

Silvasava, you can't take the title of scrooge, I've claimed it. I haven't made anything, no mince pies, mincemeat, puds or cake. And hubby and I have again agreed to give each other the gift of apathy this year! Too many other things going on to worry about it.

Fingers crossed for you Nurse Maggie, really hopeful for you.
