Today we've found a crack developing in our 6 month old toilet cistern, the doctors phoned needing to see hubby again later in the week (assuming because something had shown in the tests), a cake I made fell apart in my hands and shelves I removed to paint a cabinet won't go back in.... and it's not even lunchtime.
All in favour of opening a bottle of wine this evening say aye
The cake incidentally is "chocolate depression cake", many recipes online for it and it usually works perfectly. I make it with gluten free flour, so it's gluten free, dairy free and vegan. Worth a try for a nice frugal moist cake.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Morning fencers. Sorry I've not posted in a long time. My fence has fallen down in the wind.
Other than that and a parking fine, not doing too badly here.
Chocolate helps.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Softstuff, I hope things improve for you, I would eat the chocolate cake anyway!
nursemaggie, As others have said, chance your arm and ask for a look.0 -
Good to see you jazee
Hope you're able to get the fence mended quickly.
Softstuff You poor love! I hope you decided the wine was a good idea ((HUGS))
Maggie I am so cross on your behalf at what has happened about the flat! I hope you are able to have a look at it.
Having my hair cut this morning. It was last done in May, since then I've just had a bit of a hack at my fringe from time to time. I dread having to go to the hairdresser as I keep getting dermatitis and folliculitis on my scalp and I feel very embarrassed, so I put off going as I feel it's not very pleasant for the hairdressers, but I'm desperate atm as I'm having problems with my arm which are making it difficult to wash and rinse my hair, and of course the longer my hair grows, the more difficult it becomes!
I've tried everything for the scalp problems btwSome things work for a while, but then don't work any more.

ivyleaf I would go to the doctors about your scalp problems there are things they can give you that will help better than what you can buy. Hope your arm improves.0

Thanks Maggie
I have been to the doctor about it on occasion but they can only offer steroid lotion or an anti-fungal shampoo that I'm allergic to. I did have antibiotics a couple of years ago for the folliculitis, but my lovely GP was about to leave the practice at the time; she prescribed a month's worth but said it could take 12 weeks, so I then saw a locum who would only give me a further 4 weeks' treatment then insisted that "It must be all killed off by now!" It wasn't quite, but he wouldn't prescribe any more, so it just came back again.
I have found a gentle shampoo that helps a lot, but can't get rid of it completely, so have to try to get my hair cut during a good spell iYSWIM.
Anyway it's done now and I'm pleased with ituntil the next time!

We have been eating the cake (stuck it together with icing), but haven't had the wine. Things went wrong right up untilthe end of the day yesterday, so I think I came to terms with it.
I hope you get your fence back up Jazee.
Ivyleaf, hubby had a terrible scalp (and the rest of his skin), he went through all the usual suspects at the doctors, then a dermatologist put him on stieprox shampoo, but leaving it in for a couple of minutes. It reduced the problem, but it wasn't 100% and it was pretty harsh stuff, left him red and sore. Anyway, they discontinued that over here and we went on the hunt for something else. Someone suggested Moogoo shampoo and also the scalp cream. It's very gentle and natural, to be honest I thought I'd be using their return facility! But it's worked. We switched to their products for his whole body and he's never been clearer, he does have the odd flare up, but it takes it down in a couple of days. Worth a go if you can get a bit. Wish I was nearer, I'd bring you some and come and do your hair, I have no fear of dodgy looking scalps!Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Softstuff, I'd have dowsed the cake in brandy then hot custard, that should work. Well if you use enough brandy it would
I still cant chew and am living on soup, porridge and ice cream but it's pretty good this way, I'm not a big eater.
Went up to Edinburgh in the bus with the RV yesterday and rain was so heavy we only did John Lewis then came home. It wasn't that busy at all.0 -
Ive just wasted an hour trying to find which bulb on my christmas lights has blown! There's four separate strings together & one string isn't working so I've changed every bulb, got a blister on my finger & I still can't find what's wrong. So bu**er it - they can go up as they are!!
