I've not been good for a bit candlelight, but just sitting it out and waiting to pick up again0

I expect it will come Mar, but the waiting gets you down, doesn't it.
Take it steady

Glad you're enjoying having your DGD there Candlelight
My eldest one has just got engaged. (We have three - one's in his early twenties, the others are primary school age.)
Mardatha Sorry to hear you're not great atm - I hope you improve again soonest. ((HUGS))
I was coming downstairs this morning when my knee gave way  I managed to grab the banister, luckily. I hopped/hobbled to my chair and womdered what on earth I was going to do, then remembered seeing a Boots' "Knee Support" on top of the fridge yesterday, so when OH got up a little later I got him to bring it for me. My varicose veins don't like it much, but at least I can walk!
It's one of the few times that something OH has bought "because it might come in useful" has actually done so! Just as well, as we're doing some childcare of younger DGKs this afternoon. That could have been a bit tricky if I couldn't walk, as usually DH does the driving because of his mobility problems, and I do the actual "looking after" as required. Today that will be mainly making sandwiches and drinks, plus walking down to DGS's school to wait for him. It's a very short distance and he is old enough to come home on his own, but he likes me waiting for him, and I love it because he's always so pleased to see me :j0 -
I hope your knee is feeling better today Ivy and that you are managing ok Mar
Its the usual chaos here with lots going on as ever.
Am starting to get my Christmas panic on and am wanting to do lots more home made stuff this year, as the theory is now I am home schooling DS11 I am home more and we can make things as part of our projects. So looking at chutneys, flavoured vodkas (not with DS11) and Christmas cakes as gifts
Have a lovely day folks0 -
Thanks kidcat
Thankfully it does seem rather better, as long as I take care not to straighten it when walking. If I do, it tries to bend backwards and really hurts _pale_. I do have hypermobile knee joints, so that probably makes them more prone to problems.

Kidcat I think if I was home schooling then I'd want to make vodka too...
You take it easy Ivy!0 -
Morning fencers, hope you're all ok, and that knee is better Ivy. DH's knee seized up while we were out yesterday which wasn't good. I hope its better today as we have a long drive, although I can always do that if need be.
For the first time in my life I have started Christmas shopping. Well about two weeks ago actually. And have made and written some cards. Some are needed for the trip today, but even so.....
So a feeling-organised fencer here, says have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Thanks Mar and Jazee
It seems to behave itself fairly well as long as I'm careful and don't try to do too much. The problem seems to be at the front, below the kneecap. I'm trying to avoid wearing the knee support that saved the day on Wednesday because the top of it rolls down and becomes very uncomfortable.
Well done Jazee on the Christmas shopping and cards. I've got all my cards though not written any yet, but it really would be a good idea to get on with itWe did buy a present for one of the grandchildren yesterday.
I expect you're still busy knitting as energy allows Mar?0 -
I stopped everything this last couple of weeks Ivy, been good for nothing at all. Picking up now though but this was the worst relapse I've had.
I got a knee support and couldn't stand it either, it strangled my leg!
Sun shining this morning wind gone and feeling nice although only 10C.
Actually hauled my wee tired sluggy a$$ out yesterday - car needed a service- and went a walk round the wee market town. RV spotted a Polish Barbers and went in for a haircut. There was a girl and she asked me if I was next, I said no lol this is a barbers and I'm with him. She said no no we do ladies too, and showed me the price list which said ladies trim £12. I got mine done and wow it is so nice!! My own hairdresser takes £42 so I saved £30, and they were such nice people too, we will go back.0 -
OOh I do love a bargain haircut0
