    Welcome to baby Bethany
Gran hope things are a bit easier for you
Kidcat lovely to see you back. Hope things are less manic in your household than previous times.
Nice weather today after a few days of torrential rain so lovely to take dog out and not come back like a drowned rat lol.
A quick question I've got a food processor for my birthday from my mum and sis and I was reading the instructions and it says can only be used for a maximum of two minutes at a time with are 5 to 10 minute rest in between I can only be used for a maximum of 5×2 minutes then must rest for 90 minutes has anyone else come across this it seems a bit unusual?
Hope everyone else is well xx

What sort is it shanks? I've got a kenwood and I'm sure the instructions don't say that - but on the other hand, food processors work so fast that chopping a load of veg takes a matter of seconds, and I'm sure 2 minutes would be more than long enough to mix a cake or similar.

It's an Andrew James one. I'm sure that 2mins is a long enough time for what I will need it for it just seemed unusual to me esp when it comes with a dough mixer which normally takes a bit longer than 2 mins. However it will prob be more than enough for me was just curious if everyone else was the same as I don't think my old one had a time limit xx

I have heard of that brand but I don't know anyone who has one, sorry I can't be more help :( I hope you'll have fun with it anyway!

ETA Just had a thought - it might be worth starting a new thread asking if anyone else has experience of the brand, as more people will probably see it then :)

I have known about the running for two minutes for a very long time. It does seem to depend on how hard the machine has to work. It will cut out if it gets too hot.

Hi Sheila! Hope you manage to post again.

I have been luckier than a lot of people seem to be in that I have lost a post only once and that was when the forum was going wrong.

We've been away at the weekend to a Christening we thought was next month - the invitation said 10/11/15 but it turned out to be 11/10/15, so having booked hotel rooms for next month nice and cheaply we had to change it at short notice and pay extra, but it was worth it :)

    Hi Shanks,

It is really quiet isn't it. I think during the summer months this seems to happen because we spend less time in the home. I miss so many of the interesting posts and the adventures people have.

Monnagran, how are you I have missed tales of your adventures?

Pops, how are you at the moment, have you put the garden to bed for the winter?

Mar, are you reasonably well. I know you were waiting for scan results, but I know the ME lays you up for some of the time.

We are both OK. Himself is not sleeping well at all and wanders the house in the early hours.

Our DGD1, who is 22 lives with us. She is a joy to have here and we don't actually have to do anything for her. She eats with us in the evening, but cooking another meal is nothing. She keeps her room beautiful, hoovers and polishes the furniture and does her own washing. Of course she is at work all day, so we don't see a great deal of her, and like most young people spends some time in her room in the evening watching DVDs.

She has been in Florence with her BF for the last few days but is due home tonight. She is a good girl and has sent an email each evening together with photographs from that day. They look so happy together and he is a lovely young man.

We must pop into town tomorrow to visit £land to stock up on scourers, dish cloths etc. I haven't been in there for some time because there never seems to be enough people on the tills and I hate waiting long.

On Friday we are taking sister and BIL out for a carvery because it is their wedding anniversary, so I must remember to buy a card tomorrow.

I think that is most of my news, it would be lovely to see some old faces here.

Sending hugs if you need one, I know a lot of us have worries and problems.

    Much love

    Candlelightx
