I'm so on a health kick I'll be a pain. Good to be back in the swing of things...lots of salads/fruit/cereal/porridge. I've found that I can actually get away with prepared salads at present in a big supermarket and one container costing £1(theirs)and another well known brand is enough for two salads for me(two days of meals)and I can often find a date three days ahead so I don't have to use them immediately.
I'm less likely to waste it. It saves me time and money to be honest. And as I always have extra items in the fridge I can throw a few extra items in where necessary.
Generally we're talking around 50p a meal if that. No preparation or cooking either. In many cases I can even save on washing of dishes. What isn't used goes into a food storage box in the fridge.
It also now means I can take a meal with me on a day out or if I know they have a branch in the town I have travelled to I can buy my meal when I get there so it is even fresher.
The weekend wasn't bad and I feel better about it now than maybe I did at the time.
Going to brave the garden again in around half an hour. Bag up more rubbish, cut some branches so they can also go into bags and see as it becomes dusk see if I can clear more stuff near where the bees are. Ivy is creeping back where I have cleared so I'll keep removing it, I may sow the grass next year so I can keep attacking the ivy, its easier when there is no grass.
I will get the weed killer on it too. I'm still ahead. I can put a complete day in tomorrow."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Pops its going to be hot tomorrow so please pace yourself. It's no good if you make yourself unwell for the next day. I'm just going out to water my garden now it's a bit cooler.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Silvasava:I thought it was starting on Wednesday:pperhaps I should've carried on a bit longer tonight. Pacing myself...within an hour six bags of rubbish and a third of the difficult area now cleared. Luckily the sun swings around to the front of the house in the afternoon. Perhaps if I work in the early morning? Evening its the music club so I have an excuse not to by then.;)Thank you for thinking of me. Found a better way of using the spade to protect my shoulder and share the force by using both arms.
Going to plant bushes and shrubs around the outside of the garden but what to choose? Flowering types or those that offer protection and are green all the year around. Think I'll get rid of the couple growing in the middle of the lawn. I nearly decided to let them be. I could strim the grass up to them(undecided)
I'll be radio listening by 10pm(Sounds of the 50's" with Leo Green - the son of big band great Benny)I've had a few of my tweets favoured/replied to by Leon(R2 at 10pm)the Russell Davies at 11pm in conversation with a public(usually music)figure."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Popperwell, when it is hot you are best advised to do little pottering type jobs only, so as not to exhaust yourself. Things like planting seeds in pots, trimming back bushes with secateurs, potting on plants into bigger containers....heavier stuff involving spades and lawnmowers is better for cooler days, or at least early or late in the day. personally Popperwell in the heat I would sit in the garden with beverage of choice and a notepad and pen for planning!Must use my stash up!0

Nargleblast, Knit Witch, I'm reading 45c in the south:eek:perhaps slightly less in the North. Maybe I can bag what I've pulled at first light:)and then do nothing. No cooking/all food is prepared. Music Club tomorrow night/mystery play Wednesday/social bingo(small prizes)Thursday. I'm sure something is planned for Friday(I forget what:o)but nothing strenuous. I have hats and sun cream.
Probably windows will be open and if any breeze is around it will pass through the house. I have a big electric fan too but not sure that always helps to be honest.
