just a quickie to say that I will be back with you before long. I am surviving well and am making a new life for myself. It has been very traumatic but as always, I got stuck in almost immediately, which helped me lots. Less than 5 months and I am adapting and moving on. The human psyche is amazing

The downside of getting on with things as I do, is the achiness in various joints, I am now concentrating on sorting those and have already pretty well dealt with the bad shoulder and the backache, just the thumbs now

I keep an eye on you from time to time but am not addicted to mse any more, just appreciating life as it is ie living in the moment

Best wishes to all of you

Good to see you both Kittie and Sheila. Also good to know you are both keeping busy. Kittie I find if I do too much knitting I get painful thumbs. Try doing a little less.

Tiring? Isn't the word. Buses and connections were acceptable. The weather improved by lunchtime. In reality I took the rucksack...and the chair. The chair was for the Proms in the Park concert.

However, in reality I had done all that I wanted at the food festival within two hours but thought, why rush...rest awhile after all the concert wasn't starting until 6pm. I went to the park an hour before it was due to start...

Turns out they'd changed the time or I'd got it wrong(probably me)but I did look a few times on the internet. When I arrived there was only thirty five minutes remaining. It started at 3pm. Had I known I could've been there for the start:angry: And as so little time remained I never used the chair:doh:

Mixed mobility day:( At times I managed and I think the painkillers did their work. A couple of times I just thought "S** it!" and took a taxi. A short ride for them so not that expensive but it seemed a long trek to me. It was a change and a day out. I'm resting now and have had a salad(plus a weak coffee)I will listen to easy listening music on R2(Clare Teal/Don Black)

I'll resume the gardening tomorrow. New week/new me.:rotfl:Still nice outside this evening so perhaps this is proof that the mini heat wave is coming later in the week. My next event is a mystery play written by Arnold Ridley(Godfrey)in Dad's Army this Wednesday. I get another chance later in the year for a Proms evening but that's not free and not in the open but in a theatre. Also today's was a military band.

Thanks for the best wishes and I send mine to those who have posted whilst I am away, its good to see some positives from negative situations. X

Hi Pops - sounds like a tiring but enjoyable (in parts) day. I too like listening to R2 on sunday evenings. Saw Clare Teal at our local Arts Centre last year & she was excellent. Just her and her pianist - she's got a really powerful voice too!
