Pops - What a difference in your garden, you have worked really hard. I'm sure the bees are quite entertaining but I would certainly keep my distance, once got too close to a nest and one stung me right on the end of my nose!
Burtha - Hope today's results are positive.

Well, that's me finished for the summer holidays, I was like a whippet out of a trap at 1pm, just a shame it is pouring down for the start of the holidays.

Of course, Scottish schools break up end June and go back mid-August.....so the holidays start earlier up there.

Wait till you see the garden by the weekend :) I found when the bees had gone to bed I was able to get really close and work around the area I usually can't.

Re-bagged all the rubbish into larger ones plus new one's. Now standing at twenty three. I was out bagging rubbish when I came in from my bingo between 9.30pm-10.30pm :p and that was after a shop at the supermarket on the way home.

I'm determined to get it in order.

I had a win. Won a house and that meant I was £2.40 in profit(big money)I messed up the last two games and had a senior moment so if I had won I don't know.

Won the last house(flyer)but shared with two others so won £5. That paid for my shopping.

Still thinking of you Burtha, hope all is well. x

Hi all hope everyone is ok. Not been on for a while. I was looking forward to driving to mums tomorrow as house has an offer and I'm desperate to move nearer family.

Dd checked the estate agent website and the offer has been withdrawn:(
Checked my phone and I had a missed called from EA so it must be true.

I suppose I'm lucky dd checked before I drove the 400 mile round trip.

Back to cleaning ready for viewing now :(
I must remember that "Money Saving" is not buying heavily discounted items that I do not need. :hello:

Hi all, thanks for the well wishes, the consultant has left me a bit confused..... So thinking thinks through and trying to gather more information , so far the tumor hasn't grown ( good news) but in the consultants words "its very rare to have this type of tumor at my age (44) normally they appear in people 80+ and therefore they wouldn't do anything ,so I have a choice to go down to Sheffield and have a blast of radioactive treatment ,after getting fitted into a head brace / wired so I carnt move ....." My concerns are 1 - I don't like/ trust/have any faith in my consultant ,after lost apptments that he had forgot to send out/ lost results/having to chase up everything myself ,never mind the fact that on our first meeting he spent less than 2 mins with me ...do wonder if he just wants to pass me on to another department ...
2 - first consultant ( nice one) said that chemo / radioactive treatment didn't work on this type of tumor , is he wrong or just had no example of it working ?
3 - consultant didn't say if treatment would kill or just slow down growth ?
4 - area that they are treating ,scared !! Will it have nasty side effects ,I know it will cause burns etc...so is it worth it if it don't kill it off ?
5 - didn't want it to happen and would like to hide somewhere ....small kids don't know ,and yes I know they will be OK but can only think it will hurt/scare them and I don't want there normal life to change ....

So will wait for an appointment at Sheffield then talk through a list of my concerns and go from there .....
Sorry I seamed to ramble on

Burtha there is only one thing to do start Googling your type of tumour and look for more information.

If it is rare chances there is an association of some kind for it and lots more information through them. Just keep looking. If it is not growing you have time to find someone who knows more about it.

My cancer is rare and I found a specialist who knows a lot more about it and I have an association that provides lots of information.

Just keep looking until you find out more.

Burtha/Nursemaggie:Stating the obvious. I have had experience of this horrible situation with my parents. My own health scares in the past and on going. I can only offer my good wishes and support. You've a right to "Go on""Ramble" as you put it. Of course you're scared/confused. Its what none of us want to hear.

It puts everything in perspective regarding what is important. And when given such news through it all we usually end up thinking of others.

I hope you find the answers you are looking for. I won't say "Don't worry" because any of us would. Its awful feeling you have to do all the research yourself but it does seem to be the case more and more. Take Care. Thinking of both of you x emo35.gif

Burtha - huge hugs to you. Nursemaggie has the right advice. Do you have a good relationship with your local doctor - could you discuss options with him? Radiotherapy has improved tremendously in recent years - I've had a course and no burns, no pain and they can target the area very precisely now as they use laser tech too.
Please feel free to 'vent' here whenever you need to - we are all rooting for you xx
