  • I'm not old enough for the vaccine. I have been tempted to try and talk coworkers into giving it to me, but the doses are monitored and nurses aren't a priority!

That doesn't make much sense to me - as nurses are surely much more likely to catch it than most on the one hand and its important that nurses stay healthy in order to be able to treat the rest of us on the other hand:cool:

sorry I've been absent, but our flat sale fell through. They !!!!!!ed us about for a while before too. All up a giant pain in the !!!!.

So sleeping on a mattress on a bare floor continues as does no other furniture and a general camping feel to the new house.

Money will be even tighter thanks to the collapsed contract costing us with the solicitor, new advertising etc. Add to this that we're still paying two houses worth of bills and this sucks.

I'm sure all will be well in the end, but though i stopped crying, It may be a while until I feel optimistic.

Would it be possible to pay for it? I think I would have done if I had still been working.

I think it is restricted to those over 65 who are vulnerable here. I got it because the treatment for my cancer makes me more susceptible to infections. I was getting weekly colds at the time. I had 23 the winter before last. I guess my GP would not have let me say no.

Oh no Softstuff! I will try and stay as optimistic as possible for you. I don't know what to say but big big hugs and I will be thinking of you.
  • Sorry to hear that Softstuff.

Hopefully a new buyer will come along soon - and a genuine one this time at that.

The one consolation, I guess, is that it shouldn't take long to find them - courtesy of how well you modernised the flat.

Going mad here taking a chance lol - went the garden centre and got some turnips, onions, and salad onions. They are sold out of seed tatties.
So will plant them today and pray for a mild spell lol. And order seed tatties on ebay.

softstuff sorry to hear about your sale - the place looks fab so they must need their heads examined. Better luck soon.

wondercollie hope you are soon on the mend. My Dd is a student nurse but didn't get a flu jab this year as the Uni/hospital/GP all said it wasn't their responsibility!!!

Well done on the home schooling kid at, in hindsight I think my younger DD would have benefitted from it. She hated school after the first term in reception and couldn't wait to leave. Although she is studying A level at college rather than school, she still doesn't like the whole environment.

Pops you have certainly been getting about. The evening you mentioned with the Jimmy Webb songs sounds wonderful, I was (still am) a great Glen Campbell fan and he did lots of Jimmy's material.

Glad to report the sun is out, the new raspberry canes are showing signs of life and the courgettes are going out in the daytime for some air. We pushed some runner beans into the ground the other day so are hoping for some signs soon.

FPK hope the trip to the dentist is OK. I moved to a new surgery last year after almost 20 years at the local one. Our old dentist had left and we'd 'put up' with the new one because he was so convenient but the mess he was making of working with the orthodontist on Dd's teeth had us voting with our feet. I now go to a lovely, all femal practise where everyone from the receptionist onwards is fantastic and so caring - just what I need as my anxiety goes through the roof even before a checkup.

Mar hope your veggies survive :)
