Morning all,
Nice to hear how you're both getting on Kidcat and Burtha. Burtha, fingers crossed for little (if any!) growth.
Today is lots of revision--I need to start practicing things in front of the mirror I think. It is all very well knowing it on paper, but being able to speak fluently about it takes a bit of getting used to after spending so long working on it all mostly in my head, alone!
Mondays are bed linen wash days and fortunately it is forecast to be sunny. I'll also head to the gym this afternoon. OH realized yesterday that the gig is next Monday (fortunately NOT the day before my exam:eek:) so dinner is flexible tonight. As I'm at the dentist tomorrow afternoon I'll save the quick meal for then and do something slightly more involved tonight and probably also put together the marinade for the jerk chicken I'm making later in the week.
The dentist should be interesting. I go to the same dentist OH has gone to since he was a toddler. His whole family sees her. He managed to get me on her list a few years ago when I had a bad experience with dentists trying to get me to spend unnecessarily for work I didn't need, so I don't mind the awkward 3 hour round trip with three public transit changes (it is only 20 mins by car). She is lovely. Unfortunately she left for another practice recently so I'll be seeing the new dentist who replaced her in the old practice. The family is still having confabulations about the possibility of decamping to the new practice, but there is some confusion as to weather the new practice will take patients and if the old dentist isn't scaling back her hours a bit and going part time. I figured it was best to at least go for my clean and check up as scheduled and then sort it out later. I'm sure they'll all want to know the scoop on what the 'new' dentist is like.
Hugs to any and all who need them.x0 -
Am just popping in to send hugs to all, its incredibly busy here but I am loving home school, I find the difference it makes to us all is amazing, and my only regret is not having done it sooner.
I managed a night out last night very last minute organised but it was really good to get out and relax totally
That's wonderful kidcat :T So glad it's working out so welland thanks for posting when you're so busy xx

Morning all,
I watched the second episode of Home Fires yesterday. I'm still not sure about it either. In the past I've given up on dramas where nothing positive ever seems to happen and I'm worried this might go the same way. I feel like there should be a mix--there are always the small victories.
OH is cooking a new recipe tonight, a quick bean and sausage chilli with some potatoes, really looking forward to it. I'll put off washing today as it is meant to rain most of the day but should be clear tomorrow. I'll be taking my revision cards with me to the dentist to practice on the train/in the waiting room. I must also order my OH's birthday present as his birthday is next week. Last year I found a three month subscription to a monthly newspaper he likes, so he had it for the summer months while he was off school and I think I'll do similar this year as he really enjoyed it last year.
Hugs to all who need them.x0 -
Sounds perfect FPK.
kidkat so glad you are still enjoying home tutoring. I really sounds as if it was just what you both needed. The constantly waiting for school to call you must have been so stressful.
Have a good day everyone.0 -
So glad things are working so well for you kidcat. Sounds like your DS is blossoming.
FPK, newspaper/magazine subscriptions are one of my favourite presents to buy for friends, something to look forward to and it means their celebration lasts longer than the day itself.
Walked to the library when I got home from work to get some more bags for the food waste bin, went the long way round so got a good walk and some much needed fresh air. My legs are still recovering from Saturdays march up a mountain so they shouldn't ache so much tomorrow!
DD has gone to meet a friend after work so I am enjoying browsing on here and watching a gardening programme - bliss!0 -
I'm catching up because I'm on sick leave. The shoulder is playing up still despite the efforts of the physio. But what's pushed me over the edge is fever/chills/aches/nausea/fatigue. We were exposed to a patient with huge case of pneumonia who didn't tell us about it until he was going home, we'd have had a mask on him if we'd known. All four of us who worked with him are feeling lousy.
My trees are starting to blossom, so I'm sitting wrapped in a blanket on the deck looking at them. My rhubarb has just broken through and my tulips are blooming.
We can plant out next week as by the 20th the frosts are usually finished.
Hope the weather is holding at your ends.0 -
Get well soon wondercollie. Did you know you can be vaccinated against pneumonia?0

My frost free date is 1st June wondercollie, so not much longer now0

Wondercollie we're on our third picking of rhubarb, with 1.5kg already stashed in the freezer for DH to make wine with. I'm ashamed to say I still have some of last year's in the freezer too
along with stewed apple, plums & some gooseberries that are destined for a really tasty gooseberry & peppercorn chutney, which after 18m maturing tastes just like Branst*n!

I'm not old enough for the vaccine. I have been tempted to try and talk coworkers into giving it to me, but the doses are monitored and nurses aren't a priority!0
