Maggie but why can't you be the tenant and he is your son who lives with you? That doesn't sound right to me either.0
-
No the law says he has to be on the lease if you take out the tenancy after they are 18. It does at least mean he can stay here when I die. Otherwise he would have no rights and have to be out in a day or two.0

nursemaggie - I'm sticking my oar in here, but does that mean you are joint tenants on the lease? If so, and you are using both bedrooms because you are not a couple (obviously) then you don't have a spare bedroom to pay extra for. Contact your MP, new or otherwise, they'll be gagging to help their constituents this early on in the new regime.
And I got distracted, so I'm still not dressed, but I do have hazelnut and vanilla brownies in the oven.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Me too Jazee been watching TV and sewing up a cardigan wrongly. I better go get my shower.
I will contact the council before my new MP who is actually the last person I would contact.0 -
Woohoo, I'm dressed! Still not actually doing anything of any use though.....Spend less now, work less later.0

Am just popping in to send hugs to all, its incredibly busy here but I am loving home school, I find the difference it makes to us all is amazing, and my only regret is not having done it sooner.
I managed a night out last night very last minute organised but it was really good to get out and relax totally0 -

Here's an interesting event but I fear all tickets will have gone already(I just found out about it)RAF band playing in Durham Cathedral on the 75th anniversary of The Battle of Britain and its free! I'd love to be there."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Kidkat you have no idea how many times I hear people say that. I have been doing it for 26 years but still 2 years to go.
The two who never went to school are the calmest and least materialistic people I have ever met.
Burtha sites about internet safety for kids here and here0 -
Thank you grandma - I have had a few people who are really supportive knowing how bad school had become for him, but when they hear I dont plan to put him into high school next year they are horrified that I am giving up my life. My thinking is I had no life before, waiting for a call to say he had done something, this was we are enjoying an adventure together and he is learning all sorts of things he normally never would. When we sit and do formal work on paper he achieves more in thirty minutes than he used to in a day at school.
Burtha - I have this morning read a similar tale on a SEN group I belong to, only much much worse, the person friended went on to begin grooming very quickly and making threats, thankfully mum spotted it and the police have dealt with it brilliantly. Social Media is wonderful for people who use it properly and understand the risks, for children its incredibly hard, our house rule was that I had to be a friend with no exceptions, and that I had to know the password at all times (I regularly checked it hadnt been changed) if they changed it they lost access as I simply blocked the site. We lived through the days of that messenging service which I forget the name now - it was much harder to keep an eye on that than some sites now, I managed to set it up with settings to save every message in a private file, which meant I could monitor who they were chatting to easier.0
