Those who would look after the place get a rotten place and a rotten landlord and good landlords get bad tenants. it's not fair is it?0

That's absolutely disgusting monna I hope yr son gets really good photos and lots of them. Dated and timed.
I did an escape yesterday although I was half dead. It was either that or the RV and I were going to murder each other. Went up Edinburgh in a train (for part of the way anyway!! ) and had 3 tea&cakes in 3 diff cafes. Oh the decadence,
And I found L'Occitane soap............I now sit in a cloud of roses and can ignore the RV grumping.;)

Morning all,
Just a quick one as we're off out soon, but I wanted to say I've moved into similar situations--there were some parallels here and there is still one major thing we're waiting to get sorted--a leak, although they did sort the garden, the burst radiator and decorate some rooms (although I've since discovered some that weren't done and mold lurking behind curtains). Monna, tell your DS to append the photos to the inventory which will then have to be signed by the estate agent/landlord. I once had to fight to get a deposit back and it was those original photos and my receipts that saved me. This was before protection schemes were introduced but as soon as I whipped out my copy of the inventory and started flicking through photos along with their itemized list of damages they suddenly started apologizing. Unfortunately unscrupulous agents and landlords know that there isn't much you can do when you arrive to move in and things aren't as expected.
On the other hand, I've had some lovely landlords who, like Hester, do their best. I don't want to paint them all with the same brush!
Right, I need to get a wriggle on.x0 -
p.s. Mar, if he grumps too near, wave your soap at him like garlic and vampires!0

Oh monna, that's rotten for your family
good thing your son has a camera!
mar The soap sounds gorgeous! I recently bought some organic shampoo with attar of damask roses in it and it smells heavenly but unfortunately my scalp doesn't like it even though it's sulphate-free. So i'll use it in conjunction with my other one.
I was thinking recently that we haven't "seen" Softstuff lately! I hope she'll all right.0 -
Ds new landlord seams ok ... House was clean an tidy when they got the keys ....
Now all of the boxes have been moved from my hallway , his bed and loads more of his stuff has gone to their new house , so it looks like that's it , child number 2 (and girlfriend) have finally fled the nest .....
Wow , don't know if I party or cry lol
Probably cry as I haven't been upstairs yet to see what state they have left it in , and what am I going to put there ....£223/ £250 GC0 -
burtha If you don't know what to put in it may I have it? :rotfl: Then I can move into that one and leave mine as a storage room. Or I cut it in half and have a dining room in one and the other for storage.
Yea! for the first time since we moved here I have hot water at this time of day. I think the thermostat must have been faulty when we moved in. Too hot in the kitchen.
Could everyone keep their fingers crossed for DS tomorrow he takes his Japanese exam at 1pm to 5pm tomorrow.0 -
FurryBeastOz wrote: »:rotfl:That was on my to do list for today. It's still on my list. I'll try it tomorrow morning after I turf DH out of bed. Then I'll have to put everything away before I can have a nap in the afternoon!
Mmmmmm. Maybe tomorrow:D
Karcher did you find your bed last night?

I only just finished putting away the contents of the airing cupboard. I left a sheet and duvet cover out. I will change DS's bed while he is out, I wont have to put the cover on his Duvet so I can do it without him there.0
