I 've got a James. Mainly because the RV is also James and I liked the idea of him being called after a hoover..0

We have a Dyson, who is a little suicidal (jumps down a flight of wooden stairs onto wooden floor), but does what he is asked - most of the time!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I acquired a Henry when a renter did a moonlight (not owing rent!) and left loads of stuff for me &DH to clear. Lots of it was perfectly good so it was sorted and sent to good homes. Henry is in the shed while Bessie Bissel lives indoors coping valiantly with the cat hair!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

I'm vacuum free, I'm also iron, hairdryer, microwave and now freezer free. It certainly saves on the electric bill.
We have more new neighbours, people come and go, it makes life interesting, different boats, different dogs, we now have a very friendly lurcher on our jetty.
Last night the Marina manager was blowing a hunting horn, no idea why, I'll ask him later.Chin up, Titus out.0 -
Morning all,
Hester, I envy you being hairdryer free. I keep trying and I just look unkempt.
Bit of work this morning. It should be enjoyable but at the moment it isn't. I need to have an idea and I don't have one.
This afternoon is my own again. No rain forecast so there will definitely be a walk and I think I'll pick up some nice things for a breakfast to celebrate OH's first day of summer break tomorrow. I managed to get two bits of fabric washed and dried yesterday but we had a bit of surprise rain so still some to go. However, I think I must do laundry today. I may get out the sewing machine later, depends on how long I walk for. I may also leave the sewing for next week when the forecast looks pretty sad.
Baked ziti for tea, made with turkey mince, an aubergine, a couple of peppers and courgettes, pasta sauce and a few kinds of cheese.**
Hugs to all who need them.x
**The more the better, right?0 -
I'll take a hug FPK, I'm very down with this rotten weather and rotten tiredness xx TY.0

Aw mar, so sorry you're feeling low. Are the steroids not helping much atm? I send you a hug too.
at your hoover being called after the RV xx
Hester a hunting horn? How intriguing! i hope you have a chance to ask him what was going on.
A different-from-usual day ahead for us. OH has an eye test at 11.30, then we'll get something to eat in the restaurant of the new department store that opened a few months ago. Then at 13.30 he has his annual retinal screening, then we are going to look after the grandchildren, but OH will have had drops in his eyes to dilate the pupils so won't be able to drive, so we'll have to go by bus.
DD2 will be coming home early from work and rushing straight out again to a parents' meeting at DGS's new secondary school so we don't know what time she'll get home from that.
Thankfully as it's going to be hot (sorry mar) the kids will probably only want a sandwich rather than a cooked meal. (Oh dear, that makes me sound like a rubbish grandparent not wanting to cook for them, but I find it exhausting, I think it's using someone else's cooker and equipment etc.)

Aw Mar, have double hugs and a slice of cake with a cuppa from me. It is going to be warmer and not rain, but the sky looks like we've been invaded by a huge ghost.
Ivy, I hate cooking in other people's kitchen so I understand completely!0 -
Oh thank you FPk, that makes me feel much better!
As it turned out it was so hot that they didn't want an early meal, just snacks, and in the end their father got dinner while their mum gave me a lift home0 -
I haven't got a Henry, Dyson or a James...don't have an iron or a hairdryer either.
Where did I go wrong?
Got ((hugs)) for Mar though'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
And I ain't got the power anymore'0
