Morning all,
Just trying to keep Maggie the Cat quiet for OH to have a lie in. She is most indignant that she has not been allowed to run in and jump on him. I'll try to keep her contained until 8, but after that all bets are off!
I had a really lovely walk and pic nic yesterday. We live adjacent to a hill at the start of the peaks park and I climbed that and ate overlooking the town and a few other hills. I came back via the farm for eggs and then discovered a new route home. Overdid it a bit as it was quite warm and I didn't pace myself enough on the second clime so had to sit and rest in the shade for a bit. Mar could have had a bit of that sunshine, although it only stuck around for an hour or two. It is supposed to be nice this morning and then turn to thunderstorms this afternoon.
I'm up early as usual and have done a bit of work. I'm going to make us a nice breakfast with toast in the toast rack, eggs, greek yoghurt, strawberries and coffee. We're then going to walk into town for some errands. I want to get some bits in from the local shops for lunches and we have a few other errands to do--post office, pop into the leisure centre to see about memberships and see if there are any tickets left for a local even Monday night. Then home for an afternoon in the garden. OH is making some sort of bean burgers for tea.
I'll try to get some more washing done in the in between moments and get it dry before any thunderstorms this afternoon!0 -
I love toast racks! And it's erm... raining here. Again. TY all for hugs NOW SEND ME THE SUN! please lol0

Maybe it is heading up to you when it leaves here this afternoon Mar? One can hope! As for toast racks, ME TOO!0

That sounds a lovely breakfast FPk
I'm having Greek yogurt too, with dried fruit, seeds and nuts sprinkled on top. Not in the mood for eggs though.
I hate this weather as far as food is concerned, i never know what to make for dinner and we don't like salad enough to have it every day!
oh poor mar, I hope the sun finds you very soon, rain and gloomy skies every day is so very depressing xx0 -
Well, fortified with our large breakfast I've been thinking up questions for you lot!
One--have any of you ever frozen a paneer curry? OH found a recipe and fancies trying to make it. We were wondering if we could add it to our freezer meals or if the paneer would go funny?
I was also wondering if any of you have one of those little signs about no circulars/ junk mail on your door and if it works? Not only would it be nice to avoid them coming in the normal post, but we seem to have some independently delivered around 6 in the morning which is noisy. I'm sure it is someone trying to earn a bit extra outside of their other job so I don't begrudge it, but they just go straight in the bin and the cat is a nightmare once she thinks we're up and about (we are up and about in term time but not in summer!)
Not sure OH is a fan of the toast rack. He was sensible enough not to grumble, but I don't think he likes having to butter his own toast. I also suspect it falls into the rather large category of things he considers unnecessary faff. He'll get used to it!0 -
Mar I'm sending some of our sun too, along with a spare box of jelly babies :j. Hope that helps.:)Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0

FPK - can't help you with the frozen Paneer but there is a sign on this site you can down load - I've do e a couple for my elderly neighbours too, or your local council / neighbourhood watch sometimes do them HTHSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Silvasava--that is brilliant, exactly what we need! Actually it was the bin trucks at 6:30 this morning, but at least that is only once a week!
I have a work deadline today--the work is mostly finished it just needs some polishing and then we'll go into town again for a few things we didn't finish up yesterday and to join the leisure centre.
I think I'm making tea tonight--pasta with fine beans, pancetta and sage butter I think. I'm also going to make a winnaberry pie--we've never had them before but have been assured they'll be delicious!
Laundry and the usual chores today. The weather isn't sure about itself. We never got the promised thunderstorms yesterday so I expect we'll get rain at some point today. OH cut the grass yesterday, but only managed a circle. We need a longer extension lead so will see if I can get one in town today :rotfl:0
